59. In fact, humans are not weak

We continued to move forward.

Arrived in front of the Nair Valley in front of the Nair Forest, we had no intention of stepping into that dangerous place.

My ears could listen to the whispers of dangerous animals in the valley, the singing of returning birds. I closed my eyes and focused on perception, but could not feel the message of humans.

Finally I opened my eyes and looked up at the orange clouds flowing across the sky, and it seemed that we would not be able to cross this valley before sunset.

As we began to prepare to rest and regroup, suddenly I heard the howling of wild animals.

Rumbling footsteps were coming our way, and I looked to my master next to me, who frowned and should have heard it too.

"Distance?"

The master turned her head and asked me.

"I... about..." How do I know? I shouted in my mind, unable to express it. On second thought I could say it in a different way, "About ten minutes to arrive."

Then the master immediately raised her head and gave the order to the soldiers around loudly.

"Formation masters! Quickly draw the ice spell formation in ten minutes! Infantry cavalries retreat! Make room for the formation masters."

After a command the soldiers at the forefront retreated, the formation masters then jumped off their horses in the open space in front of them, injecting ice blue light into the land in all directions, constantly twisting and crawling to merge with the light released by the other formation masters.

In the entrance to the valley, there is a huge ice-blue spell formation forming, and finally the formation masters retreated, and the soldiers of the demon race re-formed.

I flew over to stand in the forefront, ears twitching, and found that things were not so simple. Not only did the sound of powerful Yagron running ahead come out, but the sound of human rain-like dense footsteps in the rear also came out.

At this speed the human army arrived here in about an hour, and the Yagron in front was already close at hand. The rumored Yagron is the iron-red dinosaur about four meters tall.

I did not expect humans to surround us from the rear. I would have thought that Sirene City, closer to the rear, would be our protection, and humans would not dare to surround us from the rear. After all, if there was any movement discovered by me, we turned back to cooperate with the soldiers of Sirene City, and the ones surrounded would be humans.

It seems that the humans have learned that my super perception can be applied to intelligence detection.

Now I can't have much time to think so much anymore. I have to make countermeasures quickly.

I hurriedly flew over to report to the master.

"Master, there is a human army in the rear, about an hour to arrive."

The master kept a serious expression and nodded. Then she ordered the generals next to her.

"You each go and remind the soldiers of each ministry to end the battle in half an hour, then we try to take the high ground of the valley before the humans arrive and crush them."

"Yes! Lord Demon King!"

With that, they rode their horses and spread shouts in all directions, while I continued to fly to the forefront.

Half an hour after the battle, I gazed at the red-eyed Yagron that looked like it had gone crazy in front of me, and estimated that there were about 300 of them, so it should be okay.

When the first Yagron rushed into the spell formation, ice from the ground pierced the Yagron, then the third and the fourth kept coming and then died. But the Yagron in the rear would eventually step over the corpses in front of them to step through the spell formation.

The magicians in our demon camp gathered purple magic, darkness like a gale swept past and finally exploded in the valley, purple flashes blossoming from the source.

So far none of the Yagron can break through our formation. We demons just rely on long-range magic shells that constantly bombarded. Although the magic of this intensity can not completely blow them up, most of Yagrons came out from the gunfire and were wounded. Those Yagrons which their fighting power greatly reduced because of injuries were pierced to death by the front infantries.

I didn’t watch from the side, so I followed the magicians to release fired shells at those dinosaurs.

But the disadvantage is that my long-range attack magic range is not wide, so I flew alone to dodge the attack of magic balls, and finally landed toward the Yagrons, accompanied by loud rumbling, and bloody rain.

A circular space of about ten meters appeared around me, but it didn't take long for the Yagrons to spread quickly and narrow the circle. These Yagrons were howling loud crazily to lunge at me.

But this is exactly what I want.

I can keep releasing light blades, magic crystal swords, magic balls, explosion and other kinds of magic to kill Yagrons. If my magic can blow up my shield, then it is too embarrassing. So I can safely stay in my space waiting for these dinosaurs to die.

The Yagrons' broken limbs and bones were even drowning me, but as I expected most of Yagrons was still drawn to me.

I could probably hear my master starting to order some of the soldiers to go up to the top of the hill and take the high ground.

In the end only a few dozen among hundreds of Yagron were left, and more than half an hour had passed.

I flew out of the haze of blood. The master did not wait for me to speak and told everyone to start marching to the top of the mountain, leaving me alone to protect the back, which is indeed what I wanted to say.

The plan went on as planned, and there were very few Yagrons.

As I was about to raise my hand to destroy them, something behind me tore through the air and I dodged in a hurry, but...

"Bang!"

The laser pierced my body.

The purple laser streaked across the dusky sky, and for a moment I thought I saw a shooting star.

A sharp pain in my abdomen hit me, and it was a little hard for me to close my wings and land to the ground.

I covered the bleeding wound which slowly healed by itself. However, the laser flashed again and I slightly side-stepped my head to not get my head blown off, but part of my long blue hair was chipped off.

"Boom!"

Rolling smoke and dust rolled up from where the laser shot hit.

The surviving Yagrons began to retreat for some reason.

This laser couldn't have really reached the speed of light, could it? I was almost completely too late to dodge.

I stayed in place with some trepidation, concentrating on the source of the laser, but fortunately the demon army had all arrived on the mountain, and only thirty minutes had passed so far.

Half a minute later the laser hit a hole in my body again, and the other side aimed at my heart. But because of my dodge, he only hit my shoulder, and the last abdominal wound has not yet fully healed.

Shooting my head I was completely able to dodge, so the opponent chose to shoot my body that took up more space. I could not instantly make a dodge. The master said I would only die if I was decapitated. I don't know if I would die when my head was blown off, but I didn't dare take that risk. But what's the use of hitting my body? Even if I'm shot and injured badly, I will never die as long as I don't separate from my head. Give me some time to recover and I can still fight against humans alive and well.

For another half a minute I took the shot or arrow without moving, while the opponent hit my heart with precision.

Finally I captured the location of the launch ... To my surprise, the other side was on the top of a mountain five kilometers away.

I don’t know whether the other side can see me or not. With so many obstacles along the way can he shot them?

Another laser shot, he aimed at my neck, but I dodged it.

The laser cooldown was half a minute, and the humans were still on their way.

I got up from the ground. I must get back to my master.

Followed the laser trajectory just now, I use my Clairvoyance.

I finally saw what the other side looked like. It was a woman, long brown hair, and what she was holding was really a sniper rifle!

We have no cover between me and her, not to mention the bare woods.

She also saw me through the scope and found I was watching her, so she bit her lower lip.

She pulled the trigger.

So my shield was pierced.

It seems that the shield is not working either.

I used the half minute gap to run to the mountain and block her line of sight.

"Boom!"

The stone was blown to pieces.

What the hell is this sick human!!!

I cried out in my mind, but fortunately the mountain blocked the blow for me, while all the wounds on my body had healed.

But strangely enough, I could clearly feel that the laser shot just now was much slower.

No, there were human voices from where the Yagrons were coming from!

When the Yagrons quieted down a bit, I heard an incoming human army on the other side of the Nair Valley, but farther away from between us and Sirene City.

I spread my light wings and flew up to the top of the mountain.

I got hit once on the way, but it didn't help. I was just a little sore.

If she had aimed at the master in the first place, the master would have been killed with a single shot, right?

It's just so unfair to be able to use something like that.

But I calmed down a little to think about it. Suddenly I thought that there must be some limits about using the laser gun, right.

So I went back to the master.

I saw the master frown, with some anxious look.

"Master, I'm fine."

Fortunately, the master was always surrounded by an escort. Even if that sniper's target was the master, he had to shoot the bodyguards around the master first.

"That's good."

The master finally put back her cold, serious face.

The battle robe on my body was again stained with blood and had many holes in it.

"But master, we might have to be attacked from two sides."

I think the master can hear my heart, so I won't talk more nonsense.

"That's okay. We take the high ground."

With that, the master gave orders to the ministers next to her.

"Andrews, Baze, go ahead and assign troops to guard the southwest side of the mountain where the humans arrived first. And then later start a defensive circle for the whole mountain."

"Yes, Lord Demon King."

The two big demon men left, and the master then said to the others.

"Rebecca, and Rita, you two are responsible for counting the provisions. If we just defend on the mountain for a few days, then we will decide the corresponding plan to counter-attack."

The master went on to say a lot more, until people surrounded her had gone, leaving a few tall bodyguards.

No, the word bodyguard is too modern. I should say escort.

It was slightly exciting to be on the defensive side for the first time.

After the master sighed, she faced me.

"How did the humans manage to cast illusions on such a large number of Yagrons?"

"I don't know."

Just after I answered the master seemed be holding back her smile.

"It's good that you're okay. Change into a set of battle robes to prepare for the next battle."

"Yes! Lord Demon King!"

Following the tone of those demon generals, the master finally couldn't help but raise a smile.
