There seems to be an emotional problem between Souren Manranyama and her father, Wan Lanshan Haiming. It is obvious that Souren Manranyama does not like her father, but it is not the typical dislike in a father-daughter relationship. There is a story here that I don't know about. When it comes to such matters, it is important to take responsibility for being "curious" in a casual way.
"The truck is too far ahead, we can't see it anymore," reported Wan, agilely jumping down from the tree.
I wish I had a handy servant like her, of course, not a gay one. A gay personal servant just doesn't sound right.
"Well, it's okay, luckily we have Uesugi Yui's suggestion, otherwise this trip would have been a waste," Souren Manranyama replied.
"No, it's nothing, just a random thought," Uesugi Yui modestly and shyly stuck out her tongue.
The truck convoy went in a different direction than expected, but we were not panicked at all. The reason was as follows: when we fled from the cargo compartment and hid in the bushes, Uesugi Yui suggested hiding Souren Manranyama's phone in the cargo compartment and tracking it to prevent them from changing their destination. After hearing Uesugi Yui's suggestion, Souren Manranyama took out a tracking device from her bag for me. Although she said so, I think Souren Manranyama must have considered it beforehand, otherwise who would carry a tracking device with them for no reason? Anyway, thanks to Uesugi Yui and Souren Manranyama, we can now track the truck calmly... which means we are hiking through the forest.
Half an hour later, we found out through the tracking device that the truck convoy had stopped at a warehouse in a different location, but it would still take over an hour for us to walk there. To make matters worse, it was getting late and it started drizzling.
"Do we hurry over or retreat and regroup?" I felt that a decision had to be made at this point, otherwise unforeseen situations could arise.
"It's too late, Shang Shan," Souren Manranyama said, looking at the sky.
"Why do you say that?" I knew Souren Manranyama had a special talent for observing the weather, so if she said so, it meant the situation was indeed not optimistic.
"A thunderstorm is coming, we need to find a place to take shelter quickly." As Souren Manranyama said this, Wan had already taken out a topographic map of the area and found a nearby cave, only a five-minute walk away.
"Just rain shouldn't be a problem, right?" Uesugi Yui tried to express that a little rain was no big deal.
"It's not just rain, Uesugi Yui," Souren Manranyama said as she started walking with Wan. Uesugi Yui was still confused, so I leaned close to her and whispered a word, "mudslide."
Many people have heard of mudslides, but few have actually seen one. After experiencing it once, no one would want to experience it again.
And so, the four of us began rushing to our destination. Fortunately, Wan's topographic map was up to date, and we indeed found the cave as marked on the map.
I explored the cave a bit. It wasn't very deep, maybe about five or six meters, but it was spacious enough for the four of us. And fortunately, there were no other occupants in the cave.
"How long will the rain last?" I looked at the dark sky, unable to make any sense of it, and asked Souren Manranyama.
"Probably four to five hours. Let's rest in the cave during that time."Souren Manranyama was also staring at the sky, looking frustrated. After answering my question, he sat down on the cushion prepared by the temple and rested.
Four to five hours of heavy rain?
That's not good news at all. It could be dangerous, even fatal.
I ran out in the rain to observe the surrounding terrain outside the cave. Luckily, it was all downhill with no rock piles or depressions. Even if the rain got heavier, it shouldn't pose any danger.
Then, drenched, I returned to the cave and saw three girls sitting around on the cushions, playing poker.
My heart broke.
"You... are you still in the mood to play poker?" I asked.
"We just got back. What were you doing? You happened to be alone, come join us," Uesugi Yui replied without looking up from her cards.
"Wait, Shangshan, you're all soaked. Dry off first before coming here. Don't wet the cushions," Souren Manranyama said with a smile.
I could clearly sense the malice behind her smile.
But I couldn't do anything about it, or maybe I should say, I couldn't do anything about them. So I sneakily hid in the depths of the cave, took off my clothes, wrung them dry, and put them on again, using the heat from my body to dry them.
During this time, the girls continued to play poker happily.
Suddenly, I felt like I had been abandoned by the world.
Sigh... It's getting late, it's pouring outside, and the convoy we were targeting is several kilometers away. My stomach is also rumbling with hunger.
Amidst the flashes of lightning and thunder, an unexpected visitor arrived in our cave.
A rabbit appeared at the entrance of the cave.
