Chapter 3

On Saturday morning at 8 o'clock, one week before the date, I ate breakfast and then locked myself in the room. I wasn't idle; I sat on my chair with a serious look, staring at a draft paper on my desk with the title "Date Arrangements" written on it...and nothing else.

I needed to fill in the specific details for the arrangements, but I was getting a headache because I had underestimated the complexity of the date. I thought it would be a simple thing to do, but that was not the case. Then, a message from Su Yuqian made me nervous:

"Where are we meeting? At what time? Stupid Jerry still hasn't made any decisions. Not because I'm anxious or excited, don't get the wrong idea."

It seemed clear to me that she was looking forward to it, which made me feel uneasy. All I could reply was, "I'll get back to you before Monday. Please wait."

I kept thinking about the arrangements and tried to come up with a plan. I started with the time, but then I realized that I didn't know when it should begin or end. Without a set time, I couldn't plan, so I went out to find my sister, Fia.

I glanced at the living room, but didn't see her. She was probably in her own room. As I walked down the hallway, I tried to be quiet, not wanting to attract the attention of Zhiye. She always followed me, and no matter what I said, it seemed like she never listened. I didn't want to argue with her because I was afraid of being confined forever.

I didn't knock on Fia's door because I knew it was unlocked. I didn't want to waste any time. I wasn't breaking into a little girl's room to commit a crime. Besides, Fia was my sister, and I didn't think there was anything wrong with entering her room. The crucial thing was not to make any noise so that Zhiye wouldn't hear me and ruin my plan.

Fia's room was just like any other room, but it had a girly feeling to it. The pink curtains, the pink bed sheets, and the stuffed animals on the bed made it clear that it belonged to a girl. I felt like I was seeing it for the first time.

Fia was wearing an oversized cream-colored sweater that was probably meant for an adult. The hem of the sweater was right at the level of her thighs, and she wasn't wearing any pants. Her rear end was raised, pushing the sweater up, revealing white panties that were just visible. She was reading a book with her hands on the ground and her face down. Although I didn't know what book it was, her face was bright red.

"Fia..." I called out her name, and she suddenly trembled. She quickly closed the book and pushed it behind her with her butt, then straightened her legs and sat down.

"Why are you here, bro? Do you need something?" Fia looked very nervous, and I knew the book was the reason.

"Uh, Fia, I forgot to ask you when the parent-teacher conference is going to be held."

"Why do you need to know that, bro?" Fia held onto the hem of her sweater tightly.

"It's important, Fia. Please tell me."

"By the way, bro, do you have anything important next Saturday? You could go with Zhiye to the parent-teacher conference."

"No. I have a date with Su Yuqian."

"What? You have a date with a girl?" Fia didn't sound pleased.

"What's wrong? I only asked her out because of your encouragement."

"Ugh, bro, you can be so annoying."I looked at her, puzzled, while Fiona muttered something to herself. "Okay, tell me the time," I urged her. "From 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon," she replied, seeming a little unhappy. Nonetheless, I thanked her and planned to leave. However, I was still curious about what Fiona was sitting on, so I decided to trick her: "Ah! Fiona, there's a cockroach crawling up your leg!" "A cockroach?! Where?" Fiona freaked out and jumped up, swatting her whole body with her hands. Taking advantage of the moment, I picked up the book beneath her and felt its warmth in my hands. It wasn't that I had strange fetishes – I simply noticed it by accident. "Yu Jie gege...don't look, don't look," Fiona protested, but it was in vain. I stood taller, taking advantage of my height to keep the book out of reach as she waved her arms to try to grab it from underneath. I wouldn't let her succeed, holding the book high and examining it carefully. Upon seeing it, my pupils dilated and I became panic-stricken. "This...this is an adult book!" I was flabbergasted. It wasn't just the simple sensation of blushing and a racing heartbeat anymore – it was a moment of crisis. "Fiona, explain yourself. How could you be looking at something like this?" I couldn't help my anger. "It's...it's my classmate's. He said that reading this would help me mature," Fiona explained naively. "Your classmate has some pretty messed up thoughts!" I was outraged. "He stole it from his own father, claiming that his father read it often and that doing so would help step into adulthood," she replied, illustrating an entirely flawed sense of logic. How could he seduce my innocent sister like this? "Where is he? I need to teach him a lesson," I growled. "Yu Jie gege, he's just trying to help," Fiona protested, failing to recognize her own mistake. "Yu Jie gege, Fiona knows you're worried that Fiona will learn bad things, but Fiona won't. I just wanted to learn a little bit more. Can I have the book back now?" She extended her hand, asking me for it. "No way...I have to confiscate it," I declared. "But Yu Jie gege, I need to return it to him on Monday," Fiona pleaded. "Kids can't look at things like this," I insisted sternly. "Give it back to Fiona, give it back to Fiona!" Fiona suddenly became very worked up, trying to snatch the book back from me and forcing me to take a step back. However, my foot slipped, causing me to fall and sit hard on the floor. My butt hurt so much. But because I fell, Fiona couldn't keep her own balance and fell onto me, tears streaming down her face like I had bullied her. "Fiona, why is your room so noisy? What happened?" At that moment, Zhi Ye pushed open the door and walked in. In this state, what was I supposed to say?!
