Larry left Charlotte's room and walked towards the mansion's gate. In the living room, Oriana, the maid who supervised the other maids, noticed Larry coming out and approached with a bow.
"Sir, are you going out?" Oriana asked respectfully.
Larry glanced over and nodded. "Ah, Miss Oriana, yes, I want to wander around the capital."
"Do you need me to accompany you, sir? Is this your first time in the capital?" Oriana lowered her body and continued, "You can ask me any questions, I am happy to answer."
Larry waved his hand, rejecting Oriana. "I just want to explore alone. The unknown is the most mysterious and attractive. It wouldn't be fun if I knew everything in advance."
Oriana bowed slightly. "Very well, sir. Have a pleasant journey."
Seeing Oriana return to the group of maids, Larry walked straight out of the mansion.
"Well, let me truly experience the charm of this parallel world." Larry looked around happily, with an excited smile on his face.
Walking along the streets of the capital in the afternoon, the crowd in the capital showed no sign of decreasing.
After wandering for a while, Larry saw an old man selling apples.
Thinking of an anime, Larry felt a sudden excitement and walked over.
"Sir, how much for these fruits?" Larry picked up an apple and asked the old man.
"Ah, apples, they're 5 copper coins each and very delicious, young man," the old man kindly said, selecting a more vibrant red apple for Larry.
"According to the game's setting, except for the ones I invented, the names of the fruits in this parallel world haven't changed, right?" Larry pondered and picked up the apple, then handed the old man a gold coin.
"Ah... Um, sir, I can't give you change," the old man frowned and said with a wry smile, attracting the attention of the people around them.
Seeing Larry holding an apple, the gold coin in the old man's hand, and his expression, both the customers and vendors around them began to look at Larry with disdain.
Larry was taken aback, sensing the hostility around him. He looked around and then realized. "Do they think I'm causing trouble?"
Larry shook his head helplessly and waved his hand at the old man. "It's fine, no need to look for change. I really like this apple."
Larry took a bite of the juicy red apple in his hand, enjoying its sweetness, which not only quenched his thirst but was also delicious.
"Is it the same as the apples I have stocked up on?" Larry thought, as he had a large amount of food stored in his backpack, including apples.
In Larry's warehouse, there were countless apples and other food items.
"I can't, sir, this apple is not worth that much money." The old man hurriedly tried to return the money to Larry but was refused.
"I have already eaten the apple, and I don't have any other money to give you. That's enough, old man." Larry turned away from the apple stall, waving his hand. He left the area.
The people around him looked at Larry with kind eyes and envied the apple seller.
A gold coin was enough for their family's expenses for a month.
One gold tier was equivalent to 100 silver tiers, 10,000 copper tiers. The exchange rate was 1:100. Larry's gold coin could buy the entire apple stall.
After Larry left, a pair of greedy eyes stared at his back, disappearing into the crowd.
Walking on the street, Larry's lips curled up in a disdainful smile as he continued to casually observe his surroundings.Larry's attention was quickly drawn to the entrance of an attic. The decoration of the attic was extravagant, with a band performing on a small stage at the entrance. Some people stopped to watch, and a few went directly inside the attic. Larry looked at the sign hanging on the attic, which depicted a colorful bird sneaking drinks from a barrel of beer, with the words "Drunken Oriole" written below. "The inn looks pretty good," Larry thought to himself.
With his sharp eyes, Larry noticed a young and beautiful cat-eared girl working as a receptionist inside the inn. Unconsciously, he walked towards her. "Welcome, sir. What can I do for you?" The cat-eared girl, who was standing at the entrance, opened the door for Larry and waited for his instructions with a smile on her face.
Larry glanced around the restaurant and then said to the cat-eared girl, "Please find me a quieter spot." While the inn was not as noisy as a tavern, there were still people chatting during meals, so it wasn't completely quiet.
The cat-eared girl looked inside and then led Larry to a corner on the second floor by the window. "This place meets your requirements perfectly, and there is only one other guest nearby. If you need anything else, just knock on the bell on the table. Can I get you something to eat now?" The cat-eared girl smiled sweetly at Larry, as if trying to melt him with her charm.
"I'll have a roasted suckling pig, a bottle of milk with sugar, thank you," Larry said. The order surprised the cat-eared girl, who doubted whether this customer could finish such a large portion. However, she didn't say anything and just smiled before leaving the table.
The chair was very comfortable, probably made of some kind of animal skin. Larry leaned back in his chair and took out a book called "War of the Gods" from his backpack, quietly flipping through its pages.
At the table next to Larry, a girl wearing a magnificent robe with a hood looked at him in surprise as he calmly read his book.
At first, what caught her attention was the roasted suckling pig that Larry ordered. She was curious how a person could order such a large amount of food for themselves. Then, she noticed Larry suddenly holding a book in his hand. If she wasn't mistaken, this person must be a wizard or had a magical item for storing objects.
However, whether it was a wizard or someone who had a storage item, the girl had no impression of this black-haired teenager. Among the young wizards she knew, he wasn't one of them, and among the noble families who owned such magical items, he wasn't among them either.
Larry had ended up in this inn just because he wanted to sit down and rest for a while after wandering around the capital all day. As for why he ordered food when he already had some... Did he really come to an inn just to have a plate brought to him by the waiter?
If he had done that, Larry felt like he would be so embarrassed that he would want to find a hole to hide in.
Suddenly noticing the girl's gaze, Larry looked over, but the girl was lost in thought about his identity and didn't notice that Larry had already noticed her.
"Although it's impolite, miss, may I ask if there's something dirty on my face? Why have you been staring at me?" Larry curiously asked.
Startled by Larry's words, the girl with the hood waved her hand in a flustered manner and said hurriedly, "Ah... No... Um, I was just lost in thought."
Hearing her words, Larry asked with a smile, "Does that mean I look like someone you know? That's why you've been staring at my face?"
The girl understood Larry's teasing and laughed awkwardly.
Larry shook his head and continued reading his book with a smile.
Then, as if remembering something, Larry said to the girl, "Mysterious lady, would you like to join me for the meal? I suddenly realize that I've ordered a dish that I can't possibly finish."
The originally awkward atmosphere was instantly relieved by Larry's words, and the girl burst into laughter. At first, the girl wanted to refuse Larry's request, but for some reason, she nodded and agreed. The girl sat down next to Larry, who put down his book and said, "Miss, with your mysterious appearance, do you have any difficulties?"
The girl sitting across from Larry shook her head at his question, then nodded, and finally shook her head again. Larry chuckled and said, "So, I still don't understand if you have any difficulties or not."
The girl quickly waved her hand and said, "Well, it's not really a big deal, so it can't be considered a difficulty."
Larry smiled helplessly and extended his hand, saying, "Nice to meet you, mysterious lady. You can call me Osric."
The hooded girl didn't expect Larry to play along, but she still followed basic etiquette and said, "Um, I'm Chloe... Oops!"
As Chloe introduced herself, she suddenly covered her mouth and nervously looked at Larry.
Larry looked at Chloe in confusion and asked, "Um... Chloe? That's a nice name. But why are you looking at me like that? Is it a problem if I know your name?"
Chloe shook her head and looked into Larry's eyes seriously. After a moment, she exhaled and asked, "Um... Is this your first time in Pasekrian?"
Larry was taken aback and nodded, "Yes, it's my first time."
(Although I was summoned here.)
"I see, no wonder," Chloe said, relieved, as she patted her chest and exhaled.
"What's wrong?" Larry asked curiously.
Chloe quickly waved her hand and shook her head, "Nothing, it's just that I've never met someone like Osric who came to Pasekrian for the first time."
Larry was not an idiot, and he sensed that Chloe wanted to hide something, such as her identity, but he didn't care about these things.
For him, any problem that can be solved with force is not a problem.
What? Problems that can't be solved with force? Then let's turn them into problems that can be solved with force.
At this moment, a cat-eared maid led another cat-eared girl holding a dish, a roasted suckling pig emitting a shiny and fragrant oil.
The roasted suckling pig was surrounded by some lettuce leaves, with some cherry tomatoes and dried fruits on top.
It made one's appetite soar.
