"We're here, let's go."

Moonless jumped off Kamaila's back and reached out his left hand to the young girl.

"Thank you, thank you for bringing me back, Adventurer-sama. Please come with me to my house, my parents will definitely thank you."

The girl bowed to Moonless in gratitude.

"Don't keep calling me Adventurer, just call me Moonless. And you can call me Moonless too."

Moonless didn't like being called Adventurer-sama all the time, although he was happy to be an adventurer, but being called "sama" made him feel like a minor character in a novel, destined to be sidelined sooner or later.

"I understand, th-thank you..."

The girl wanted to thank Moonless again, but before she could finish her sentence, Moonless suddenly raised his hand and placed it on the girl's head, looking at her with a serious expression.

"I say, if you're willing, would you consider going on an adventure with me?"

Moonless looked at her seriously and asked.

"Huh? What's going on? Adventurer, um, Moonless."

The girl was confused as to why Moonless was making such a move.

"Do strange things happen here often?"

Moonless didn't answer the girl, but asked her instead.

"Well, strange things happen from time to time, but not long ago, a wizard came to our village and promised to help us. Not only that, he stayed in our village for a while and set up some kind of magic formation around the village. After that, we never saw that wizard again."

The girl answered Moonless truthfully.

"Something is going to happen later, so don't get too excited."

"Huh?"

The girl didn't quite understand what Moonless meant, but she felt a tightness in her chest and found it hard to breathe.

"Take me to your house."

Moonless walked ahead.

"Okay! My parents will be so excited to see you."

The girl imagined the scene when she returned home and her parents embraced her.

"Is that so? Well, that's a bit embarrassing."

Moonless simply smiled and replied.

"It's alright, you're my benefactor, and my family will warmly welcome you."

The girl shook her head, she had a good impression of Moonless and thought he was gentle.

"I still don't know your name."

Moonless suddenly forgot that he still didn't know the girl's name.

"Joan of Arc, I'm Joan of Arc Darkle."

The moment she said her name, Moonless suddenly stopped in his tracks, seemingly frozen.

Joan of Arc Darkle? The Bright Saint of the Orleans Continent in that game? The captain of The Orleans Knights? The endgame world boss, Dragon Saint? A series of information flooded Moonless' mind.

'No, this must be just a coincidence, just someone with the same name.'

Moonless comforted himself, but he still wanted to know if the girl was just a namesake, so he asked her about the current era.

"Do you know what year it is, Joan of Arc?"

"You don't know?"

Joan of Arc was shocked that Moonless didn't know the current era.

"Well, I've been living in the mountains and rarely have contact with the outside world."

Moonless felt awkward in the face of Joan of Arc's question and told a little lie.

"Oh, I see. It's August 6th, 608."

Joan of Arc now had a better understanding of Moonless.

'608? Isn't that the initial time in the game! 608 is two years earlier than the start of the game, which means it's two years before the game started. But the history of this time period is completely unknown. I only vaguely remember a few things, like when I did tasks with Feifei and the others, and one of them was a quest involving Joan of Arc.'"Wait! If I remember correctly, this might be the location of the Joan of Arc mission. The mission called 'Joan of Arc's Past' is to help Joan of Arc find out why the village turned into a dead village a few years ago."

"So, this girl might be the Joan of Arc in the game!"

"Moonless, sir?"

Seeing Moonless standing still without any movement, Joan of Arc couldn't help but worry.

"Oh? I'm fine. Let's keep going."

Moonless smiled and shook his head, even if she was the Joan of Arc in the game, she was just an ordinary person now. Even with talent, without any guidance, it would be impossible for her to achieve such accomplishments in just a few years. Maybe she is just coincidentally named the same.

"Right, our village is called Domremy Village, and the people there are very kind."

Joan of Arc wanted to introduce all the people in the village to Moonless and even thought about introducing them to her parents first, but she didn't know that the village ahead was no longer the same as she remembered.

"Okay, Joan of Arc, we can stop here."

After crossing the stream, Moonless reached out and put his hand on Joan of Arc's shoulder, pulling her closer to him. He took out his wand and a seemingly old magic book, instantly entering a battle state.

"Moonless, sir?"

Joan of Arc felt a sudden urgency around her and felt a panic.

"Come out, person hidden in the dark. If you don't come out, I don't mind inviting you personally."

Moonless calmly looked at the empty grassland ahead. However, a golden magic circle appeared under his feet, and three magic rings of red and yellow colors appeared and revolved around the outer edge of the magic circle.

"I didn't expect that your invitation would be so beyond me."

A man who looked neither human nor ghost rose from the ground. He was covered in a black tattered robe, and his left hand had no flesh, only skeletal fingers. Not only that, more than half of his body had no flesh, but his organs were still intact. Seeing him, Joan of Arc couldn't hold back her disgust and turned away, vomiting uncontrollably.

"Did my appearance scare this young girl? I apologize for that."

The strange man made a very gentlemanly gesture to apologize to Joan of Arc, but she didn't see it at all because she was too disgusted by his appearance.

"Enough talk, you should take action now, towards the village ahead."

Moonless didn't like to beat around the bush. He already confirmed that Joan of Arc, who was behind him, was the leader of The Orleans Knights in the game, the Saint Joan of Arc. So, Joan of Arc's village should no longer be the same as before.

"It seems like you know a lot about us."

The strange man squeezed the skull-made wand in his left hand and stared at the magic circle under Moonless' feet.

"Know about you? Do you hope that I know or not know?"

Moonless, of course, knew about their identities. After all, he had completed all the missions in the game and discovered the conspiracy of an evil force, and even together with all the members of the guild, wiped out that force.

"Such a pity, it seems that the conversation with you is coming to an end. Although I can't tell how strong you really are, the magic you just released should be a level six holy judgment of light."

The strange man clearly felt that the boy who suddenly appeared in front of him was a very powerful individual. He released a level six magic without even casting a spell, and it was even enhanced by three magic rings with different attributes. He was no match for him.

"If it didn't have the enhanced magic circles, it would indeed be a holy judgment of light. But with three rings enhancing it, it will be a super magic that will make your plan tonight fail, the ultimate judgment."As soon as Moonless spoke, the magic circle beneath his feet suddenly disappeared. However, a large golden magic circle suddenly appeared in the sky, with a giant cross at its center. On both sides of the cross were the sun, moon, and stars scattered throughout the magic circle, emitting a dazzling light.

"Forget about it, attack directly!" Moonless commanded.

The strange man panicked. He never expected his opponent to launch magic before him, and his plan to delay the situation completely failed. He took a final chance, hoping to survive.

Upon the strange man's command, three enormous skeletal dragons emerged from the ground and attacked directly towards Moonless. The strange man's idea was simple - kill the spellcaster to nullify the super magic.

Indeed, this idea was feasible, but he never considered one thing. Moonless was not an ordinary mage, but a priest with outstanding attributes in violence.

"Hey, taste my hammer, Hammer of Justice!" Moonless anticipated the opponent's strategy, so in addition to casting the super magic, he also prepared another spell, the signature output magic of a priest - the Hammer of Justice.

Moonless held a massive hammer with both hands, slightly smaller than the skeletal dragons. The weight of the hammer was indiscernible until Moonless swung it down effortlessly, demonstrating its power and terror.

Boom! The three skeletal dragons faced the force of the Hammer of Justice head-on and were instantly shattered into pieces. There was no possibility of recovery. Additionally, a scene similar to a dust explosion occurred, and the strange man disappeared in the explosion. Joan of Arc remained unharmed because she had been standing behind Moonless the entire time, and Moonless had set up several layers of holy light shields to protect them both.

"Go, I'll wait for you here," Moonless sighed and said to Joan of Arc.

During Moonless and the strange man's conversation, Joan of Arc realized that her village may no longer exist as she remembered it. However, she still mustered up the courage to go back.

"This must be the reason why Joan of Arc will become stronger. Perhaps, once a person recognizes their own weaknesses, a rational person will choose to become stronger and protect the existing things around them," Moonless remarked as he watched Joan of Arc's strong demeanor and her departing figure.
