Chapter 3: Holy Water vs. Divine Fire
In The Chishin Academy, magic battles were allowed, but for someone like me, it was definitely seeking death.
"Oh God, oh Demon King, please save me!" Although I didn't know why, one thing I was certain of was that I must have offended this blue-haired little loli. Otherwise, why would she keep chasing after me? My shirt was already almost burned, and next it would be my flesh and skin. "Whoever can save me, I will listen to anything they say!"
"Oh heavenly gods, please hear my wish – Holy Water Sanctuary!"
As the voice sounded, a transparent water prison appeared in front of me, emitting waves of mysterious white light. It was obvious that the water prison was a combination of water-based magic and light-based magic, making it ten times stronger than regular single-element magic. The water produced by this combination of water magic and light magic was called holy water. In theory, divine fire was also a type of combination magic, but unlike artificially combined magic, divine fire was a purely natural combination, with a compatibility close to one hundred percent. Therefore, in terms of unleashing its best abilities, holy water was definitely not a match for the divine fire that ranked second in the Green Flames. But it was clear that the blue-haired girl had not unleashed the full potential of divine fire, as the green flames extinguished upon colliding with the holy water.
"Are you alright, Xiao Yang?" When I saw the holy water, I was already certain that he was my childhood sweetheart, Xiao Yao.
"I...I'm saved. Thank goodness you're here, Yao, otherwise something bad would have happened." I was gasping for breath, almost about to collapse from exhaustion.
"Ah! You really look like a little lamb, a four-eyed lamb." The blue-haired girl said disdainfully as she played with the flames in her hands.
"..."
"And who are you, bullying Xiao Yang?" Yao's sweet voice carried anger, but she didn't yell loudly. Although her words were straightforward, she exuded an elegant and refined aura.
"Enough talk. I will purify your souls with my divine fire." Arrogant, that was the only word to describe her current demeanor.
Green Flames primarily had the ability to attack and purify souls, and holy water also had a similar ability, although slightly inferior to divine fire.
From Yao's eyes, I saw her determination not to let anyone bully me.
"Then come, little dwarf!"
"..." I originally wanted to dissuade them, but it seemed there was no room for that.
The blue-haired girl gathered the divine fire in her hands and focused on close-quarters combat. Judging from her attacks, she must be a formidable fighter. Unfortunately, Yao had a weak physique and was an intermediate-level water magic user, specializing in medium to long-range attacks. Close-quarters combat was her weak point. But Yao showed no signs of backing down, defensively resolving the attacks of the divine fire with holy water. It seemed like a stalemate, so it might be best for me to make my escape.
While my mind was wandering, Yao suddenly launched a powerful attack. "Silent Holy Water."
No way, upon hearing that, my first instinct was to run!
As the sound echoed, a huge blue Magic circle appeared in the air centered around Yao. Rings of blue and white mana infused into the Magic circle, and then more and more holy water gathered in the air. It condensed continuously and compressed until a crystal-like milky white light sphere formed above their heads. Finally, when the light sphere couldn't be compressed any further, it suddenly burst into a waterfall of holy water, pouring down on the blue-haired girl's head. The tremendous pressure caused the girl to be unable to stand and she was pressed against the ground, completely drenched, with her clothes outlining her immature figure. Black undergarments? No, no, it would be wrong to gaze upon it - a wrong act.
"Divine fire is just so-so." Yao, when did you become so insatiable?
"Ah!!!" The girl slowly stood up, and the green flames rushed towards Yao like a raging torrent. The flames walked on the water's surface without evaporating or extinguishing, leaving no trace.
"Holy Water Sanctuary." The momentum of this attack made it clear that it wasn't good. Yao decisively opened her defense.
The water prison of the Green Flames tightly surrounded Yao, the flames continuously intensifying. Yao's water prison slowly shrank as the pressure increased, turning into a defensive film tightly attached to her body. The Green Flames persisted in their attack, and the girl's eyes gradually turned a crimson red. She continuously formed complex seals in her hands, suddenly the flames grew stronger. In one breath, the water prison broke, and the power of the Green Flames, like a beast about to pounce, directly attacked Yao's soul. In an instant, I thought it was over, my heart pounding violently, with mysterious white spots appearing on my body."Bang bang~~" The sound of two gunshots woke me up. Two bullets, accompanied by thunderous blasts, streaked across the sky and headed straight for the girl with blue hair. The girl immediately withdrew her flames and protected herself, neutralizing the bullets as they approached her body. The bullets broke through the defense of the dark flames by more than a foot. Such impressive marksmanship, and she intervened at just the right moment. Without even using my brain, I could think of who she was - Xiao Yao's twin sister, Xiao Qiong.
The blue-haired girl glanced at the new arrival, kicked up a splash of water on the damp ground, and arrogantly walked away.
I helped up Yao, feeling guilty for not being of much help. "I'm sorry, Yao. I didn't do much."
"It's okay, Xiaoyang. It's not your fault; it's all that dwarf's fault. He should acknowledge he's short."
Before I could say anything, I was interrupted.
"You little fat lamb, let go of my sister!" Qiong pulled Yao away with one hand and placed her other hand on her hip, shouting at me. "Little fat lamb, taking advantage of my sister again!"
"What do you mean 'again'? I never did."
"Hmph!"
"............" Why do these two look so similar? They have the same model-like figure and beautiful faces, except Yao's hair is long while Qiong's is short. But their personalities are so different - one is gentle and sentimental, the other is like a volcano, erupting at any given moment. It's impossible to understand them. Are their DNA sequences on different chromosomes or something?
"Sister, the opening ceremony is about to start, let's go!" Yao tried to defuse the situation.
"Fine. If you make the same mistake again, I'll shoot you dead and make you into lamb skewers."
"Hehe~~ Yes, yes, I understand. I'll definitely follow through." I sighed. It seems like today is going to be a troublesome day.
When I arrived at the venue, Yao pulled me aside and whispered into my ear, "Xiaoyang, you said that whoever saved you, you would listen to their words, right?"
"Oh! I almost forgot. You're not going to ask me to do something bizarre, are you?"
"Just you wait!" Yao said, sweetly smiling.
