Chapter 9

1

The signal went off and the two wheels screeched against the ground, racing forward, kicking up a whirlwind. Although everyone was rushing ahead, being in the lead doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing.

Just as we dashed past the starting line, the corner of my eye caught a glimpse of someone on the spectator stands. It was a girl who stood out from the cheering crowd, her movements contrasting with the excitement around her. Though her appearance was ordinary, I noticed something in her eyes, something unknown to others.

"So it's Pera?" So this is how she hides herself, pretending to be an ordinary person. In the midst of a vampire decline or a peak, this is how they prefer to be.

"Whoosh..." Before the race even began, a fight broke out. The yellow motorcycle at the front of the pack pivoted on its front wheel, making a 180-degree turn, and crashed onto the ground. The flying debris suddenly exploded in the crowd.

If this is how they plan to defeat someone, this race is truly disappointing.

This race has a long history and countless strategies have been documented. Even with just a week of practice, the results are significant beyond description.

"Qin Yin, let's stick together and assess the situation from behind." After dispersing, the two of us regrouped.

Qin Yin nodded and continued forward.

The six people at the front of the line, kicking up dust and rocks, included the yellow motorcycle and the greenish one. They must be on the same team, but I didn't pay attention to which academy they were from. As long as we determine who is with who, it is enough.

Then, I spotted Zhao Yuansong and his teammate, leaving two more people who are on the same team. Since motorcycles themselves don't have any markings, and their clothing is identical, it's difficult to identify them without proper classification.

The yellow team launched a pincer attack, with the yellow motorcycle obstructing Zhao Yuansong from behind by continuously causing debris to fly. This newly turned vampire was targeted as soon as he entered the scene, how pitiful.

Zha Yuansong evaded left and right, using his vampire abilities. However, he didn't have a good grasp of his abilities in that moment. He was anxious to break free but found himself sinking deeper. From the back, I could see his teammate... Where did his teammate go? In a moment of negligence, Zhao Yuansong's teammate, who lacked presence, suddenly disappeared. Could he be invisible? But is this considered betrayal?

The greenish motorcycle suddenly appeared from behind with incredible speed. Either it was silent or its sound hadn't reached us yet. The rider held a long stick and swung it with supersonic speed. If they can go supersonic, it's possible they can go faster than the speed of light, making them one of our biggest obstacles.

Zhao Yuansong's teammate suddenly reemerged, but I couldn't figure out how they got there. It's possible they had been tailing behind all along. This teammate was full of electricity, resembling a hedgehog. If the greenish motorcycle couldn't control its speed, it's gonna be interesting, hehe.

The greenish motorcycle quickly braked and abruptly sped up to the left, suddenly passing us. What?! I won't get to see the climax!

With lightning speed, none of its strikes touched the electrical currents or the debris. His magical power must be wind-based, otherwise, he wouldn't be so nimble. The major characteristic of wind motorcycles is their lightweight and easy maneuverability. But with such speed, it must have been trained to reach supersonic levels.

The greenish motorcycle delivered a kick, but in reality, it was multiple kicks; it was just too fast for the human eye to perceive without magical enhancement. He had already delivered eighteen kicks, all targeting the chest. The barrage of attacks had broken through Zhao Yuansong's magical barrier. However, he stubbornly withstood it, even the last strike, which was the opponent's most powerful. He was sent flying to the right, but he still held onto his motorcycle, his legs tightly gripping the sides. He refused to let go.

However, this greenish guy didn't want to let him go either. He immediately pursued, performing an S-shaped maneuver to dodge the debris, and aimed for a final blow. His speed was incredible.

A black object suddenly burst onto the stage, forcefully breaking through the debris. It charged straight towards Zhao Yuansong, wedging itself between the two of them. With its left hand, it blocked the long stick without hesitation, propelling it away. With its right hand, it stabilized Zhao Yuansong and his motorcycle. The greenish motorcycle left two tire marks on the ground before coming to a halt. Then, it continued its race without missing a beat.

"Why did you help me?" Zhao Yuansong couldn't believe that it was me who helped him.

"The game shouldn't be played like this. I don't like it. Plus, if you're the first one to be eliminated, can you still be the green-eyed?" I patted Zhao Yuansong's shoulder.

"Hiss..." After I forced my way in, another electrified person suddenly rushed in between us.

"You have a good teammate, unfortunately a bit slow in reaction!" After spinning the car twice to avoid the electric current, he said and quickly returned to the track.

Zhao Yuansong helplessly watched his own slow reaction, but his powerful teammate said, "Let's go, Xiao Yu!"

After being fiercely attacked, the other three teams already knew that the team with the yellow motorcycle was a very deadly bomb, ready to explode on any side at any time. Everyone was on guard, trying to attack again, but it was too late to catch them off guard.

However, their attacks were very coordinated, always luring one enemy while launching a swift attack. If the yellow motorcycle was the swift attack, then the green motorcycle would swiftly approach the yellow motorcycle's attack range. Then the yellow motorcycle would squeeze the enemy with a turf field, but none of the other teams were successfully breached.

The teams on this race track were all quite formidable, and Zhao Yuansong quickly adjusted himself in a short period of time. He ran half of the course without any issues. The other teams, including me and Qin Yin, were all observing. The yellow motorcycle had already clearly shown that going first doesn't always guarantee an advantage. If the first move fails, the team's strategies and weaknesses will be exposed, and no one will dare to make a move without a hundred percent certainty.

There is a section of the race course that passes through the busiest part of the city, with many obstacles, tall buildings, and wide roads, but with many decorations on the sides. Incorporating them into the battlefield would provide a great advantage. It was already the place that I and Qin Yin agreed upon.

That section of the route was already halfway through the race, dragging it on any longer would be meaningless. The time for a joyride had already passed.

"Ying, who should we attack first?" We started to look for our first target from the back of the queue.

"How about we leave Zhao Yuansong for later since it seems like you have some connection with him? That team with the yellow motorcycle attracts a lot of attention! Let's attack them." Qin Yin evaluated the situation and understood the pattern of that team very well. It wouldn't be difficult to defeat them.

"Them? Okay, let's start by shooting the Dragon Gate from the beginning. Who plays like that? And they didn't even attack me."

"What's wrong with you? Are you unhappy just because someone didn't attack you?"

"Do I have an 'M' shaped face? Let's start!"

With a sudden acceleration, my jet-black motorcycle shot past all the other teams and reached the front. My actions had attracted the attention of everyone, and in that split second I had passed them, everyone's palms were sweating.

Seeing that I was just overtaking without any extra moves, they all breathed a sigh of relief. But before the breath was even half released, my motorcycle suddenly turned around 180 degrees, facing all the participants.

"Is there anyone brave enough to challenge the Demon Dragon?" I laughed happily!
