Chapter 13
1
Elena caught sight of me in the mirror's reflection, with white hair and a gentle sunlit aura. She tasted the contents of the cup, not knowing what was inside, and involuntarily reminded me of that day, that noon when Zi Sirou and I were drinking together. I recalled that evening when Zi Sirou captivated me.
These thoughts were unprecedented, perhaps influenced by Black as I gradually had more and more inexplicable ideas, always wanting to do certain things that felt beyond collecting beautiful girls.
As I held the cup, I found myself staring into the unknown substance within. In reality, I hadn't even had time to react before Black had handed her body over to me, and I suddenly didn't know what to do.
I wasn't sure what was going on with Elena. When Black tried to talk to her, she brushed him off, and when I appeared, she didn't react much either.
Black thought she was feeling down because she hadn't seen me, but it seemed that wasn't the case.
After Elena and I both became lost in thought, what did she think about? She didn't want to tell me within the contract, but her actions spoke for themselves.
"..." The contents of the cup spilled onto the floor, and the cup lay on the carpet, struggling a bit.
Elena pushed me forcefully, seductively looming over me on the bed. She used her magic to close the curtains leading to the balcony and locked all the doors and windows.
Golden strands of hair slid down Elena's neck, partially covering my eyes. Her face appeared in front of me, a different kind of sensation, a different kind of beauty.
I felt, deep inside, that Black also liked Elena. It was something he had felt since a very young age, but Elena... ultimately, he left a scar on her heart from the day her mother kidnapped her. I was the one who stole her heart from that scar, or was it because I am a dragon?
Without that scar, would I still have been able to find the dragon maiden who had been waiting for millions of years? Was it simply Elena's own choice?
There was no answer to this! This was a world without "if"s.
Elena twirled her hair around her left ear and kissed it lightly.
Her eyes became hazy, covered in a layer of mist.
"Next, you know what to do, right!" Elena whispered secretly in my ear. Her breath lingered in my ear, causing my whole body to tremble.
But.
"Do I know? Know what?" I hadn't even had a chance to respond before the sound of shattering windows and doors came from the balcony. The rose-red curtains were torn in half.
Hanya held the sword "Cracked Cloud" in her hand, with faint green lights flickering on its blade as the silhouette of a dragon faintly appeared.
It was just broken glass, why did they need to use the power of the contract? And Li Liu, Nofice, Xiao Qiong, Xiao Yao, Wenxin... They all stood next to Hanya with murderous intent, their weapons gleaming. What on earth was going on?
"President, while I respect you a lot, as a knight, a tolerant heart is necessary. But... I can't tolerate being lured in this way."
"Our bet is who will be Qin Yang's first night, we didn't define the method, did we? And I think this method is fair!" Elena sat on top of me, her tone unyielding.
"Let's let Qin Yang decide for himself, as we agreed!" Hanya held her sword horizontally, showing her unwavering determination.
From an outsider's perspective, it seemed like the girls had made a bet using my first night. Who was so bored to come up with this game?
Elena also held a silver-white dagger made of steel in her hand, giving off the feeling that she was about to start a fight. Was this first night really worth pursuing to such an extent?
"Some things, you don't understand yet. Let me take care of this!" Black regained control of his body.
"President, can you let me up now?"
"Oh? You changed back again?"
"Bai still does not have a complete understanding of this aspect, so please don't trouble him." After getting up from Elena's side, I straightened out the collar that Elena had wrinkled. In the late autumn season, there was a slight chill in the air, and the feeling of winter slowly approached.
"Nofice, give me the coat." I took the academy's coat from Nofice's hands.
"Brother really treats Nofice like a servant!"
"I am the master's familiar, so it is only right for me to do small tasks for the master." Nofice smiled gently.
"Nah! It was Nofice who said it himself." If the familiar is willing and it is not an unreasonable request, then what is the problem?
I looked around and saw that almost everyone was here, except for Qingxue who was roasting chicken wings by the carbon stove.
"For my first time, let's give it to Qin Yin!"
"But Qin Yin is a boy!" Wenxin suddenly screamed.
All the girls' eyes turned to Qin Yin, the tall figure.
"So, there is no need to bet anymore!" I slowly backed towards the door and gestured to everyone. "I have something to attend to outside!" slyly, I said.
All the eyes and animosity were directed at Qin Yin, the "boy". Let's divert the pressure from the girls to Qin Yin first, and resolve the internal affairs of the Qin Family. I promised Qin Ying to bring Qin Hui's soul back.
Since ten years ago, I had only visited the Qin Family altar once, for some ancestor worship and other rituals that I didn't understand. At that time, I was still young and fell asleep within ten minutes. After that, I never went there again and had forgotten about eighty percent of the way.
I took the bus to the outskirts and finally found my way to the place where the Qin Family branch gathered. There were pavilions and towers, artificial mountains and beautiful lakes, high bridges and flowing water. This ancient architectural garden complex had been passed down here for thirteen million years, perfectly blending with the natural surroundings. Starting from the outermost building, it stretched all the way to the mountaintop several kilometers away. I could vaguely see the shadow of the bridge in the cloud on the mountaintop.
Before me was a white stone archway with the inscription "Pillar of the Nation, Qin," written by the grandfather of the current emperor. It was a valuable historical piece, and my father once said that it was an honor earned by the Qin Family through centuries of contribution to the empire.
Each branch of the Qin family had its own garden, and the bigger and more magnificent the garden, the more capable the family. Those who lived here strictly adhered to the etiquette. However, there was less etiquette in the Duke's mansion located in the city center, probably because it was far away from the family's elders, so the younger generation could be more uninhibited.
After passing through the archway, I saw the bustling wide streets, comparable to a small town.
As soon as I stepped in, two people blocked my way. From the moment I arrived, these two had been sleeping under the banyan tree, seemingly unaware of my presence even though I stood in front of the archway for quite some time. However, as soon as I stepped into this territory, they suddenly stood up. These two should be the "door gods" of this place, "watching" me since I arrived, pretending to sleep, and only reacting when I wanted to enter.
"Who are you? We haven't seen you before."
"Do you rely on appearances to determine who is a resident here? There are so many people here!" I looked at them nonchalantly.
"Yes, we know each person living here very well. No one can deceive our eyes, especially when you aren't even trying to disguise yourself." Speaking of recognizing people, these two instantly became excited.
Since that was the case, there was no need to say anything more. I took out the crystal given to me by my mother, which could prove my identity - as a candidate for inheritance.
