Act 72: The Princess is very agitated.
update icon Updated at 2025/2/26 10:10:12

Tiran has always been seen by Aya as unreasonable, indifferent to anything, and particularly fond of stirring up trouble. However, no matter what happens - even battles with giant beasts or attacks on the Hesse Estate - she has never lost her composure.

But at this moment, Tiran's face showed a complex expression that Aya had never seen before. Excitement, hesitation, and confusion mixed together.

"What... do you know?"

"I know quite a lot, actually. Princess, what do you want to know? Or would you like to try divination? It's one gold coin per session." The shopkeeper moved the crystal ball in front of him, resting her chin on her hand as she looked at Tiran.

"Don't joke around. Can you really buy things like this with money? Tell me! What do you know?" Tiran's right fist clenched, her nails digging into her palm, as her expression grew calm again.

"Oh, you've calmed down quite quickly." The diviner raised an eyebrow nonchalantly and revealed Aya's true identity, "That Dragon boy over there, don't eavesdrop secretly, and if you like, I can give you a gem as a gift."

"Yes, I'm sorry." Aya quickly put the ruby, which she had almost stuffed into her pocket, back into the box and hurriedly walked over, coughing a few times. It wasn't her fault though, Dragons are naturally drawn to collecting treasures, and they couldn't resist the sight of those high-quality gems.

"Alright, quickly tell me what you know. If you know, you should understand how important it is to me." Tiran raised an eyebrow, growing impatient.

The diviner sighed and held up two fingers, "Your Highness seems to have misunderstood two things. Firstly, even if a spy sells information, they still expect payment. There's no such thing as getting such knowledge without paying a price; secondly, I only said I knew these things, but I didn't say I would tell you."

"Are you playing with me?" Tiran took a deep breath, her expression turning cold, and a hint of icy blue flame flickered in her emerald pupils. There was even a thin layer of frost forming on the tabletop her hand was resting on.

Annoying, is this person intentionally doing this? I really want to punch that pretty face of hers and see if she can still maintain that calm and pleasant smile.

Aya, sitting on the side, clearly felt the temperature drop and started to panic, "Hey, why are you suddenly so angry? I think what she said makes sense..."

"Shut up." Tiran almost spat out the words through gritted teeth.

When the princess tells you to shut up, you shut up. Aya wisely backed down, shrinking back a little, in case Tiran lost control and harmed her unintentionally.

"You can make any requests you have, and I'll try to fulfill them. The only condition is that you explain to me what you know about why I am here," Tiran said, raising an eyebrow with impatience.

"Is that so? If it's the princess of Milanía, then this promise does carry some weight. Hmm, it's quite tempting." The diviner nodded and said.

Ding-ling-

The brass bell on the shop door rang again, its sound spreading throughout the room.

"Ah, sorry, Your Highness Tiran. Although it's tempting, the time has come. It seems we can't continue the conversation." The diviner spread her hands helplessly, smiling.

"The time has come? Are you a doctor or a lawyer who needs appointments in advance...?!"

Tiran suddenly noticed that the diviner and her black astrologer's robe were becoming transparent, disappearing like melting snow in the spring air.

"Wait! Explain this to me, you!" Tiran subconsciously reached out to grab the diviner, but only caught empty air.

"Sorry, there are limitations to the projection time. I can't maintain it for too long here, but since you're a guest, we'll definitely meet again and have a proper chat. Until then, take care." Soon, the diviner's figure disappeared completely from the shop, along with the gemstones on the shelves on both sides.

Except for the ruby that suddenly appeared in Aya's hand.

"This is a gift for Your Highness. Goodbye."

After the last message vanished, the shop became completely quiet. The previous lights all disappeared, and only the cold moonlight from outside shone through, casting a watery glow. The diviner in the shop seemed like a character in a dream, leaving no trace behind except for that gemstone.

Aya looked at Tiran, who was silent and hesitant for a moment, and reluctantly handed the ruby in her hand to her. The fortune teller said it was a gift for Tiran, so she couldn't keep it for herself anymore.

"Take it, let's go back," Tiran said, but unusually, he didn't accept it and pushed Aya's hand back.

...

The palace.

Under the supervision of Lady Dilia, the chief lady-in-waiting, they went through the entire ceremony for tomorrow's celebration. Finally, His Majesty the King could finally rest and be completely liberated.

"Yawn... so tired and sleepy. Well, let Dilia prepare some supper for me before going to bed... hmm?" Granzon suddenly saw his daughter and Miss Aya walking in from the other end of the corridor.

"My dear daughter, why are you back so early tonight? Have you missed your father?" Granzon opened his arms, portraying the image of a loving father waiting for his daughter to come home, ready to embrace Tiran.

Indeed, according to Tiran's usual habits, she would usually stay out late on nights like the eve of the festival. But tonight... well, although it wasn't very early, it was still unusual for her to be back before 9 o'clock.

Tiran simply dodged Granzon's embrace and didn't playfully fight back as usual. Instead, after a soft "Hmm," she walked straight to her quarters with Aya.

"What's going on? Puberty?" Granzon was perplexed and couldn't make sense of it at all.

Back in the room, Juju was already curled up in bed, sleeping quietly, and Nini had poured a cup of hot coffee for Tiran on the terrace. Winter nights were quite cold, and even though Tiran had the strength to ignore the temperature, holding a cup of steaming hot coffee would still feel much more comfortable.

"Mimi, I want to take a bath. Can you prepare it for me?" Tiran turned and asked Mimi.

"Yes, Your Highness." After saluting, Mimi turned and left. As Tiran's personal maid who had been with her for years, she could tell that Tiran was not in a good mood. But since Tiran didn't say anything, it meant that she didn't want others to know. At times like this, it was better for a maid not to ask too many questions.

But a certain foolish dragon clearly lacked such self-awareness.

"What happened tonight? Who is that inexplicable person?"

"I don't know, but it is related to something I care about." Tiran answered briefly.

"Something? Did that person steal your latest art collection? Otherwise, what else could be so exciting for you?" Aya blinked her eyes, teasingly.

"Get lost!" Tiran gave a dissatisfied snort and grabbed Aya's ear.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Don't, don't pull my ear!" Aya winced in pain, feeling like her ear was about to be torn off.

"This time, I'll let you go..." Tiran released Aya and took a sip of coffee, continuing to gaze at the night view of the castle from the terrace, with its splendid lights illuminating everything. The evening festival was in full swing, and the city was filled with lively music and the noise of people.

Such a lively scene... it seemed even more festive than the Spring Festival back home, didn't it?

Tiran's expression seemed a bit lonely. According to the timeline of this world, she was seventeen this year, and back home, her parents were probably close to retirement. Thankfully, her younger sister should have graduated from college one or two years ago. Otherwise, who would take care of her parents while she was away?

One day, when she returned from the library, everything suddenly turned black. When she woke up, she inexplicably found herself reborn in this world. Though she vaguely remembered having a conversation with someone who claimed to be a divine being, she couldn't recall the specifics. She had no clue how to go back.

Although this world was good, with good environment, clean air, and the sword and magic she had always dreamed of in RPG games, it was still not her hometown.

"Your Highness, the clothes and water temperature have been confirmed again. You can take your bath anytime." Mimi entered the room, pushing the door.

"Thanks, Mimi. Also, bring me a bottle of wine," Tiran said.

This time, Mimi didn't leave the room but took a square glass bottle filled with transparent liquid and a few small wine glasses from a secret compartment in the princess's room.

Ever since her coming-of-age ceremony, Tiran had always been accustomed to having a few drinks of this special wine from the East for the New Year. Therefore, Mimi had already prepared it.

Pour a few cups and put them on the table. Tiran looked at Mimi and Aya with a smirk, "Care for a drink?"

"As for me...I'll pass." Mimi's face changed, and she uncommonly refused Tiran's request, taking two steps back.

"Well, I've never seen colorless alcohol before. Is it an Eastern specialty...cough cough cough! Wow, it's so spicy! What the hell is this! My throat, my throat!" Aya realized something was wrong after taking a small sip. It felt like a knife cutting through her throat. Is this medicinal alcohol?!

When she put down the cup and looked, Tiran was actually taking the bottle and blowing on it. Aya had only taken a sip, but it was already a third gone!

"Damn! I thought you couldn't handle alcohol?! Drinking this much is really no problem?" Aya remembered the night in Beacon City when Tiran was knocked down by half a bottle of low alcohol content beer and quickly tried to stop her.

"I...I'm fine. I'm in a good mood today, so I won't get drunk...huh? Aya, did you learn a clone technique?" After half the bottle, Tiran's cheeks were already flushed, and her body swayed back and forth.

What does being in a good mood have to do with getting drunk?! Besides, isn't she already drunk?!

Supporting Tiran back to the bed, Aya stretched her lazy waist and planned to take a bath and relax with Mimi before going to sleep. After all, the water temperature was already set, and it would be a waste not to take a dip.

The door closed gently, and the lights dimmed. At this moment, a large number of fireworks rose in the sky outside the city, blossoming flowers of all colors, lighting up the night.

Tiran, who should have been asleep, suddenly moved her eyelids and moved her lips.

"Happy New Year, Dad, Mom, oh, and little sis."
