Misunderstood from beginning to end.

In an instant, one party who failed to react quickly was pushed down by the other party, and the comfortable chair fell over along with them; the two bodies pressed up against each other.

clang!

At this very moment, the sound of a clock resonated inside the room.

In the previous second, Isabella seemed to be full of vitality, but in the next moment, she lost consciousness and fell onto Wang Xiaole's chest, and a silent atmosphere lingered for several seconds.

When the clock's chimes faded, she immediately propped herself up on her hands and opened her hazy eyes, glancing sideways at the person pressing on top of her with a smirk on her lips:

"Who are you? What are you doing in my room?"

The sudden change in tone made Wang Xiaole stunned for a moment. The girl pressed against him seemed to have suddenly become a different person.

In fact, she really did become a different person. The one he had been talking to before was the fake Isabella, Liu Caihua who had also crossed over; and the girl currently half collapsed on the ground, still defiantly placing her hands on her waist, was the real empress. The soul occupying that body had changed.

In the previous purification ceremony, the Holy Maiden successfully weakened the curse (the sleep disease) within Isabella's body, reducing its negative effects, but inadvertently causing other changes.

For a girl not yet twenty years old, the usual duration of sleep was usually between seven to eight hours; if she wanted to maintain her appearance, sleeping ten hours was not uncommon.

However, due to the curse, Isabella had to sleep for sixteen hours a day, leaving her with a short eight hours of wakefulness. Her sleeping schedule was completely reversed compared to that of an ordinary person.

But this situation only applied to the past. From today onwards, everything would be completely different, and the reason for this could be traced back to Liu Caihua.

Due to the successful possession of the empress's body when her soul crossed over, two different souls appeared in that body at the same time!

Deep sleep referred to the resting of both soul and consciousness, where the body no longer produced any reactions without the driving force of the soul. Examples of sleepwalking were merely related to a restless soul.

The curse that brought about the sleep disease still had some effect. However, due to the weakened negative effects and the mutual influence of the two different souls, a phenomenon that had never occurred before appeared:

Isabella's soul could only maintain eight hours of wakefulness within a day. When that time was up, her personality would fall asleep, and then Liu Caihua's consciousness would quickly awaken.

To summarize:

The two souls in the body took turns working for eight hours, with the moment of transition occurring at six o'clock in the afternoon as the dividing line. From six in the afternoon until two in the morning of the next day, Isabella's soul occupied the body and continued working late into the night as usual, with a six-hour sleep in between. After ten o'clock in the next morning, Liu Caihua's soul took over the body's activities and continued until six in the afternoon. Then, the cycle would start again.

These two souls were not aware of each other's existence. After all, as soon as their time was up, they would lose consciousness due to the curse.

No one in the palace, including Sister Glasses, knew this secret. They all thought that the empress had regained her longer wakefulness through treatment. As for any loopholes, as Liu Caihua still maintained some of the empress's habits in front of others, no one had noticed anything yet. This secret remained unknown.

The pattern was irreversible. There would never be a night when the awakened personality was Liu Caihua and the one working during the day was Isabella. From the moment the clock's chimes rang, it was already six o'clock in the afternoon. In the body now maintaining an intimate posture with Wang Xiaole, the empress's personality had taken over!

The souls were like two different carriers. Although they influenced each other, they did not share everything. Therefore, everything Liu Caihua had done before did not leave an impression in Isabella's consciousness. In her mind, she said:

"I don't remember seeing you before... Why would someone I don't know suddenly come to my room at night, intending to do something unsavory?"

In the perception of the person involved, they believed it was reasonable to question the girl's behavior;

While Wang Xiaole wondered if the girl in front of them suddenly became mentally unstable?

Without any warning, her words and actions suddenly became completely different from before.

"Answer this emperor. Who exactly are you? Could it be that you are really as crazy as I speculated earlier..."

"Yes, yes, yes, I want to... violate you! But halfway through, you climbed on top of me, and I ended up being pressed underneath. This position is the best and most enjoyable... are you satisfied?"

Wang Xiaole, being a person with a temper, was certainly not happy to be interrogated for no reason.

"Well, it's true that under normal circumstances, this emperor would not ride on a girl's body. Is there any hidden reason? I will give you a chance to explain."

Hey, hey, are you serious? You're not joking with me, right?

The so-called "mentally unstable" was just a sarcastic term used by Wang Xiaole in his mind. Why did the other person cooperate so honestly? It's as if they really don't know who they are.

He has always been unruly, so he cannot suddenly change and start explaining seriously, defending his innocence.

In fact, if he did so, he would be much more at ease, at least it wouldn't lead to unnecessary trouble that would occur later.

"To put it simply, the reason we ended up in this position is because I was about to walk out of the room, then you chased after me from behind, and His Majesty lost balance and fell on top of me."

In short, that's what happened in that brief moment, it was that simple, without any significant disturbance.

But Isabella, who didn't know the truth, combined several key pieces of information and came to a conclusion that was completely different from the actual situation:

The girl walked out (indicating that she was guilty of sneaking in)

I chased after her from behind (indicating that I caught her in the act and chased after her when she tried to escape)

Lost balance and fell on someone else (accidentally slipped while trying to apprehend her, purely accidental)
