Chapter 38: The Broken Soul

Raphael took out a box from his pocket and poured out some pills. He supported Turing's neck and mixed it with water, making him swallow it.

"How do you feel? Are you feeling better?" Raphael had prepared these pills a long time ago. Cyanide poisoning could only be treated with magic in other parts of Acadia, but in Red Port, a place with an abundance of exotic goods, all you needed to do was take some medicine.

Turing closed his eyes and swallowed the pill, taking two deep breaths. His expression improved a little.

"Actually, I still have some doubts," Raphael said.

"If it was only this one person in the Kebba team, it would be fine."

"But if there are more than one, there are significant flaws in your plan."

[Of course...]

[Not only that, if my bodyguards had betrayed my location beforehand, I would still lose. My mother would quickly find me.]

[Blocking Red Port or anything like that would be a piece of cake for my mother.]

[But...]

"There should only be one person."

"That's my intuition," Turing said slowly.

[I don't have any other options, do I?]

"Fine, do as you please."

"Evrylete has already gone far; rest a bit and then chase after him."

"Although Evrylete is strong, I have a feeling that the situation will become complicated," Raphael said softly to Turing.

Turing lay in Raphael's arms, and his stiff body gradually relaxed.

"Please help Evrylete, okay?" Raphael's tone was gentle, as if she and Turing were long-lost sisters.

Raphael Banquet, Castle Courtyard Night

The moonlight enveloped, the loneliness turned into tears.

A woman wearing a mask turned towards a massive, fiery building not far behind her.

"No one followed?" The woman's gentle voice, although fragile, contained so much strength and determination.

"Found it. It was the right choice to secretly keep the horses here," the woman whispered stealthily and caressed the horse's back in front of her, gently loosening the reins.

"This should prevent the release of magical waves and allow for a quiet escape..." The woman sighed in relief, mounted the horse, and gradually relaxed her tense back.

However, a sudden change occurred.

An irregular, shining pattern started from the woman's right hand, which had been captured by Turing, and continued to spread across her body.

In an instant, it was as bright as daylight, igniting like a burning flame.

An abrupt surge of magical energy emanated from the woman, as if a great bell had tolled in the dead of night.

"Oh no..." The woman exclaimed, hastily dismounting the horse.

Evrylete appeared right behind her, with a fiery spirit tinged with orange, holding a gigantic smoking pole that split the horse in two.

The horse didn't even have time to neigh.

"How about you kneel down and beg for mercy now?" Evrylete looked at the disheveled woman before her, her tone flat.

"The woman named Ochiai cast a programming spell on you," Evrylete continued. "Every so often, magical radiance will automatically activate on your body."

"Do you really think you can escape?" Compared to the woman, Evrylete's voice sounded much colder.

With that, Evrylete took off the mask with Raphael's emblem on her face, revealing a face that shocked the woman even more.

"Your... chin?" The woman exclaimed in astonishment.

A jawbone, highly mechanized and modern, had replaced Evrylete's original chin, making her appearance particularly terrifying.

"What, are you scared?" Evrylete sneered, stepping on the burning half of the horse with one foot, looking down at the woman.

"So, I suggest you give up struggling now."

"Otherwise, when I'm really serious,"

"I won't be able to forgive you anymore." As she said this, Evrylete reached out her left hand, towards the wide-open steel mouth in front of her.No tongue?

The woman only realized that there was no tongue in Evelet's mouth when she saw it. The voice she heard just now didn't sound like a human voice.

More like ventriloquism, the woman thought.

"Prostrate yourself before the divine power of Lord Michael," Evelet viciously clenched one of her teeth. In an instant, several sharp iron teeth grew from Evelet's chin, piercing through her upper and lower jaws. Her appearance was more terrifying than the fiercest beast.

"The Book of Slaying the Red Dragon." A bright red cross erupted from Evelet's right hand like a blazing torch, stirring the cold and moist night air.

I can't get entangled with him anymore... If Miss comes, there's no way I can escape. I can't possibly flee from Miss's hands! The woman thought to herself.

"Run, flock of sheep on the horizon..." The figure of the woman in front of Evelet suddenly became blurred, and bursts of dense white smoke, like clouds, emanated from the woman.

In an instant, there was hardly anything visible in the courtyard.

Without much thought, Evelet rushed towards the direction where the woman was originally, raised the cross, and swung with all her might.

With a terrifying pressure accompanied by red-hot magma, the fountain in the middle of the courtyard was split in half by the smoke.

The broken water fountain, with water dripping out, hung lifelessly in the center of the pool, and the water in the cracked pool had completely evaporated.

Evelet looked around at the smoke that hadn't dissipated at all, disdainfully spewing out a thick smoke from her mouth.

Another strong magical fluctuation, belonging to Turing, came from the entrance of the courtyard.

Immediately, the woman also felt the magical fluctuation emanating from herself, without looking back. She directly extended her magician's hand, scraped against the ground, and crawled and rolled to the side.

"Swish!" Unlike the woman's previous magic, which was grand and awe-inspiring, Evelet's magic was clean and straightforward.

The majestic and magnificent gate disintegrated into splintered wood and sparks under Evelet's strike.

A bead of cold sweat silently rolled down the woman's forehead, who narrowly escaped.

Indeed, theoretically speaking, if Miss released countless programming magic against me, there's no way I could have escaped.

But I believe that in that instant, Miss didn't have many opportunities to cast her magic on me.

As long as I wait for Miss's magic to end, I will have a chance to escape.

The woman swallowed a mouthful of saliva and secretly made up her mind.
