Fortunately, after smashing through the police station's gates and killing Laziness, the approximately two-meter monster stopped moving. Instead, it suddenly collapsed to the ground without attempting to stop Merka from running past it.

Is this the angel of Laziness? Merka wondered, shocked that the angel had killed its own guardian.

"Children... where are the children?" The police station did not have accommodation, but for the low-crime city of Acadia, using the vacant holding cells to protect the children would be a good option.

With this thought in mind, Merka immediately rushed towards the location of the holding cells.

"You..." Merka's hopeful anticipation turned to disappointment as the image of trembling children huddled together did not appear.

Instead, there was a scene of violence and gore, with a stunned little girl standing amid it all.

A humanoid monster, around the same height as Merka, about 1.7 meters, stood there. It opened its jaw-like mouth and lunged towards the little girl.

In an instant, Merka activated their White Flame mode, picked up the girl, and narrowly evaded the deadly attack.

"Child, children... I'm sorry, I came too late," Merka didn't know how to comfort the bewildered child and could only gently stroke her hair.

"Are there other children? Please... tell me, brother," Merka softly and cautiously asked. But the girl in Merka's arms, still with empty eyes, silently shook her head.

"Damn it... damn it..." Merka didn't have time to reflect further as the monster quickly approached.

The monster's arm, shaped like a long spear, viciously stabbed out at Merka. Although the arm's front end seemed spherical, Merka could feel the sharpness reminiscent of a blade.

Merka lowered their head, narrowly avoiding the attack.

This smaller angel was probably the girl's guardian angel.

If the child died, the angel would probably be paralyzed too.

Even though the death of one angel might save more people...

But even so, Merka couldn't give up on any child!

"You go to hell!" Possessed by the White Flame, Merka's arm was both sharp and heavy, similar to the angel's. Filled with unmatched hatred, Merka aimed for the angel's head-like area and struck.

"Bang!" The hit landed perfectly on the intended spot. Though it felt soft, the effectiveness was minimal, and it was difficult for Merka to describe the sensation. Superficially speaking, it was both soft and hard.

It felt as if Merka had punched a rubber ball when not using magic.

"No effect...?" Just as Merka thought, at the spot where the punch hit, a large amount of black liquid, reminiscent of blood, suddenly sprayed out.

However, as soon as Merka smelled the liquid, their face immediately turned pale. "Gasoline?"

In Merka's eyes, the monster appeared to be grinning mischievously as it approached. Its tentacles pounded the ground, creating brilliant sparks.

The range of the gasoline splashing was too wide, and Merka couldn't escape in time. They could only turn their back to the angel and shield the girl with their body.

With a deafening explosion, the roof of the holding cells was blown away.

As the smoke and ash slowly dissipated, the glaring sunlight poured in through the empty ceiling.

The twilight sun illuminated Merka's charred back, their head with a large hole, and their legs, almost completely severed.

The white flames on Merka's body were on the verge of extinguishing.

Ignite, please! Ignite again, please! Merka prayed in their heart.

Ignoring the pain that had spread throughout their body, Merka desperately squeezed out every ounce of their recovery ability, hoping to regain their physical mobility faster and escape with the girl.

However, there would be no miracles this time.

The angel at the center of the explosion was barely injured.

The monster aimed for Merka's heart and pierced through both the little girl and Merka.

Simultaneously, as the sound of flesh being pierced echoed, the monster let out a mournful cry and collapsed.

Merka glanced at the hole in her chest and then at the little girl's body - a bloodstained hole punctured through it.

In pain, Merka grabbed her hair and finally cried, silently weeping.

The white flames started burning more vigorously. After a while, Merka's body regained some strength, and she stood up, wiped away her tears, and walked towards the door.

The excessive pain had numbed Merka to everything around her.

Merka no longer paid attention to the chaotic scene on the street.

If I want to stop this disaster... I need to seek help from others and stop Judas... lift that damn magic curse.

Everything else must be put aside for now.

The adorable image of Turing's smiling face suddenly flashed through Merka's mind. Merka forcefully shook her head, trying to push the image out of her head.

Xixi is fine, she's with Raphael, and it's safe there.

Merka walked out the door, the scorching sunlight blinding her for a moment.

She saw the huge billboard of the nearby station under the sunlight.

Although it hadn't been long since the Tinawen Station was destroyed, Merka had an idea when she saw it.

"Don't you understand the situation?" Raphael relaxed a bit and slowly spoke, "The fluctuations of magic power have spread here."

"Damp magic... it's cold and wet, and I can't use magic anymore," Raphael clenched his hand, "I can't even make a fire."

"And the angels are going crazy too, it's obvious it's because of magic. Do you know what this tells me?"

"If the culprit behind the use of magic isn't an anti-socialist, then her intention must be to kill you, Turing," Raphael said calmly.

[This damp magic is very similar to the witch's move...]

[Could it be the witch wants to kill me?]

"Why? What's the point of killing me?"

[I don't know how many times I've said this.]

[It seems that as long as I am my mother's child, they hurt me without needing a reason.]

"Why? Isn't it easy to understand?"

"Your mother doesn't know why and only gave birth to you as her only child. After your father disappeared, she didn't remarry either. There must be some restrictions that I don't know about."

"In other words, if you die, the bloodline of Oedipus will be cut off."

"Many people fear and hate Oedipus and her rule from the bottom of their hearts. That person is probably one of them."

"But no matter how powerful and dominating Arcadia is, it can only rule until she dies. How could a person never die?"

"If you die, there will be no one to inherit the will of Oedipus."

[What twisted logic is this?]

Raphael sighed lightly and said, "Honestly, I don't understand what the elders are thinking. Clearly, The Altria Family only has you as their child. If you become the candidate holding the flowers, you won't be able to become the leader in the next rotation, right?"

"Why be so afraid of Oedipus..."

"And I believe that you could have been completely on our side. There was no need to involve you in this struggle."

Raphael looked at the monster behind Turing and said seriously, "Anyway, this thing is gradually getting bigger."

"Only women have angels in this world. Perhaps there is some connection between angels and our use of magic."

"Angels usually hide among us, but now they are forced to appear because of some magic."

"Theoretically, the stronger a woman's magic power, the larger her angel will be, and it will also be stronger."

"I don't know how large your angel will grow, but we must stop this terrible magic before it fully restores and starts killing."

"We have to do this."
