Under the cover of the night, Tende and Bernie arrived near the clinic.

Tende looked up, gazing at the dark sky in a trance.

He was used to looking up at the sky, feeling that his mind and body would be at ease.

The feeling of emptying everything was really nice.

"Tende." Bernie frowned and called out to Tende.

He saw that Tende was almost drooling in a daze.

Tende, this guy, was only in his twenties but looked like someone in his forties no matter how you looked at him.

Not that he looked old for his age, but he lacked vitality and the vigor that a young person should have.

In comparison, Bernie was much younger and completely matched the spirit of a teenager.

"..." Tende seemed to not have heard Bernie calling him, and instead wiped the corners of his mouth.

"Tende!" Bernie's voice unintentionally raised, forgetting that they should be sneaking around.

"You called me?" Tende lowered his head and snapped out of his daze.

"We should place this thing." Bernie took out a wooden stick wrapped with silver chains and adorned with a badge of The Vigilant, and smirked.

This was the prop used by The Vigilant to drive away "stragglers" from a certain area - a caution tape.

Although it had nothing to do with an actual tape, it was still called caution tape.

This was a unique prop of The Vigilant, and when the stick with the corresponding ornament was placed under the dusk statue of the monarch and prayed to, it would transform into caution tape, influencing and driving away anyone within a radius of one hundred to two hundred meters who had no understanding of Image phenomena.

They might want to go buy something, or they might want to take a detour for some fresh air, the point was that they didn't want to come in.

Even if something happened in there, they would subconsciously ignore it.

However, the premise was that there was an Image phenomenon in this area, otherwise the caution tape would not be effective.

"Put it here." Tende also saw this thing for the first time, and then pointed to a place where the wooden stick could be inserted.

That place was a mailbox.

"Are you sure? This seems too obvious." Bernie thought Tende seemed quite expressionless, but his personality didn't quite match that expressionless face.

"Nobody comes here anyway, so let's put it here." Tende said casually, not paying attention to the details.

Bernie shrugged and casually tossed the caution tape into the mailbox, causing it to make a clanging sound.

And within this sound, a goddess priestess wrapped her clothes tightly and walked out of the clinic.

A pen hung from the pocket on her chest, seemingly nothing special -

If you only looked from a distance, she indeed had nothing strange.

However, when you got closer, you could see her split into three-petalled pupils.

Noticing the split pupils, Bernie instinctively drew his own knife.

Unlike Tende, Bernie used a machete wrapped in strips of cloth, the cloth was yellowed, seemingly aged.

Just like Bernie's gun, this knife hadn't been well maintained either.

Tende blocked Bernie, not allowing the goddess priestess to see the gleaming knife in Bernie's hand.

"Calm down, young man." Tende said to him in a voice that only the two of them could hear.

"She's a recipient." Bernie also lowered his voice in reply.

"I'm not blind." Tende naturally knew some basic characteristics of a recipient.

The biggest characteristic was the three-petalled pupils.

People who had contact with recipients often mentioned that recipients always kept their heads down and didn't look straight at others.

And with a little thought, one could guess the reason why they didn't lift their heads.

"Miss, isn't this clinic already closed? Why are you coming out from here?" Tende asked in a casual tone.

The goddess priestess quickly took a few steps back, not allowing Tende to see her eyes, "The priest sometimes treats patients with urgent problems at night."

"I see." Tende said, taking out his proof as an assistant investigator and a missing person notice for a priest, "Miss, have you seen this priest near this clinic?""Sorry, I haven't seen him."

"Well, why did you come out from inside then? He's the priest who runs this clinic," Tende showed no reaction to the woman's questioning.

"No, I..." The priestess was completely confused.

"Don't worry, let me ask one last question," Tende shrugged. "Is the priest still inside the clinic?"

"He should be..." The priestess blurted out, but quickly realized she shouldn't have said that.

Unfortunately, Tende had completely disrupted her thinking.

"But he might be too tired and already sleeping, you might have to come back tomorrow to find the priest," she casually made up an excuse.

After saying that, the priestess hurriedly left.

"Thank you for your cooperation," Tende calmly said. "Bernie, you can ask your questions now."

Bernie glanced at Tende and walked in front of the priestess.

"Um, what do you want?" The priestess lowered her head, not daring to look Bernie in the eye.

"Are you the recipient?" Bernie asked directly.

The priestess trembled visibly at the question.

She finally looked up, looking surprised at Bernie.

Under the moonlight, her three-petaled pupils looked especially eerie.

"Why..." The priestess had just become a forever innocent recipient tonight through the priest's blessing, why did someone already know about it?

"You have a strong monster scent on you," Bernie said, swinging his axe and holding the gun in his left hand.

Actually, he couldn't smell any monster scent at all. He just thought it sounded cool to say so.

"Monster?!" The priestess seemed provoked by Bernie's words and became slightly agitated.

Accompanied by the transformation of her shadow, the priestess's voice gradually became hoarse.

How could a recipient be a monster!? A recipient is not a monster!

"While recipients look normal in their human forms, they become highly aggressive when they transform into beasts," Tende watched the recipient's size increase under the moonlight and recalled the information about recipients from his memory.

"For certain 'sensitive' words, they easily lose control and transform into beasts."

A three-meter tall monster with horns stood upright in front of Bernie, happily opening its bloody mouth.

The priestess's clothing tore apart, and a pen clattered to the ground.

If a recipient is in human form, does killing it count as murder? After all, it was once human.

So, does killing a transformed recipient count as murder?

Tende calmly watched the roaring recipient and entered a contemplation of life philosophy.

"Tende!" Bernie shouted.

Tende looked over at the sound and made eye contact with Bernie.

The monster in front of them was not the point; the point was that there was indeed something wrong with this clinic.

And the current commotion would definitely alert the priest mentioned by the priestess.

"I'll go, you go inside and find that priest," Bernie said to Tende. "Hurry."

Only ordinary people can be expelled by the police line, and those involved in the Image phenomenon are never considered "ordinary people."

Speaking of which, what category does ordinary people fall into? Tende always felt that he was an ordinary person.
