Below the city is a bustling street with all kinds of merchants’ yelling.
It's a pity that I don't have any money, ,otherwise I must taste the snacks of the other world, because in the castle it's all about western food.
The grey and white brick paved street with all kinds of buildings standing on it. The signs and flags of the shops are flying in the wind, the glistening sunshine spreading on the dense and well-arranged buildings. The sky is deep blue that I have supposedly seen in my previous life, and the soft white clouds are stretching out on the dome.
"Little girl."
Suddenly an older man came up to me with a kind face and greeted me in a harmonious voice, interrupting my enjoyment.
I looked at him suspiciously.
"Is it your first time in the empire?"
I shook my head and then turned away to get rid of this uncle as soon as possible, who was harmless on the surface but might be a trafficker of ignorant girls behind the scenes.
"Hey, little girl, I am trying to help you with good intentions. Seeing you wandering the streets alone, I guess you must be lost."
The older man was still following me unrelentingly. If I had a bad temper I would have turned around and cursed at him.
I just wanted to cause a little less trouble and have a good time touring the city.
I continued to pick up my pace, trying to get rid of the older man as soon as possible.
"Or maybe, trying to escape your master? I think I can help you with that."
I looked down at the collar around my neck and thought that this uncle had a pretty good eye for detail. I was just about to shake my head when a thought flashed by.
I think my second-ranked strength can still protect myself. I turned around and looked at this uncle, pretending to be pitiful.
"Well, I want to escape from here, the farther the better, I don't want to be caught by the master again."
After the words came out I was surprised to find that this was my inner thought, not faking it at all.
How could this unequal life around my master be what I wanted, with my thoughts and actions controlled by her, with no freedom at all?
Life is precious, love is more valuable. If it is for the sake of freedom, both can be thrown away.
I don't think my master can hear my inner thoughts from so far away, so I now start to prepare for an escape plan secretly .
"I can take you out of town."
The older man smiled openly.
"I'm hungry."
"You can go to my house, and it just so happens that my wife has cooked in the meantime."
I shook my head and pointed to the snack stand on the side, "I want to eat that."
The uncle hesitated for a moment, but smiled and bought me a brown skewer of what looked like meat.
"Thanks."
I took the skewer of meat and followed the uncle, tasting it slowly.
It wasn't a meat skewer, actually it was like a flour-like texture that melted in your mouth, that wonderful taste like a lollipop coated with sauce, but this lollipop melted as soon as you held it in the mouth.
After the snack was finished, I was still a bit greedy. But for my safety, I gathered magic power towards my legs, turned around and ran away from the uncle with almost Bolt-like speed.
Holding up my knees, I caught my breath.
I got up again and looked back but the uncle didn't catch up.
How could he have caught up? I laughed bitterly.
I started shopping again, but the taste of the skewer still lingered on my tongue, tingling my taste buds and wanting to eat another skewer. I wish I had asked my master to give me some money so that I could buy some snacks when I came out.
But if the snack is given by the uncle, it can't be eaten. I only asked the uncle to buy it for me because I saw someone buy something to eat at that snack stand without any trouble.
I guess, the uncled thought it's okay to spend a little bit of money for me. He thought it's worth a lot to trick me into it.
But there is no way. I just came out here for the first time, so it's normal to be unfamiliar.
There is a crossroads in the street ahead. It's better to go straight.
---------
I could see a square at the end of the street, but there were very few people there.
Without having time to see what features were in the square, something long what looked like a flag pole stood in the middle of the square. I looked up and there was a head hanging from it, extraordinarily glaring in the sunlight.
My eyes widened instantly,. I surprisedly found that the head belonged to the black-haired woman whose master had killed her yesterday evening, and the breeze still blew her long hair occasionally . At this moment, there was a strong feeling of discomfort in my heart. Was that what the master meant when she said she wanted to make the dead woman public?
