"Little girl, you just came to the empire not long ago, right?"

Another voice sounded beside me, and I moved my eyes down from that head. The one who just spoke was a white-haired old man with a kind face. Look, his two horns were long and curved, and he was wearing black cloth.

I nodded my head, it's only been over half a month since I crossed over to the other world, so it shouldn't be considered too long.

"Ah, it can't be helped."

I saw the old man's expression full of regret.

I thought about the possibility of asking what the demon king looked like in the eyes of the masses.

"What's going on here?"

The old man frowned, "I heard that the news of Ilotia was leaked to the humans."

"My..." Thankfully, I stopped in time, "Are there any consequences for leaking news of Ilotia to humans?"

The old man shook his head and answered, "I don't know."

"But I just learned that Ilotia has been recreated again. There were no wars for two years, which I always thought it was strange before. It didn't fit the Demon King's style. Now I understand it. The Demon King was making Ilotia so there were no warfares temporarily.."

I was suddenly interested in my master's past, "That, can you tell me what kind of person the Demon King is?"

The old man showed a puzzled expression, and I explained hastily, "Actually I have been locked up in my room by my master since I was a child, and I only learned the basic language and words. And I managed to escape today..."

The old man smiled slightly and did not question much.

"It looks like you don't know anything about the outside, right?"

I nodded, and then the old man and I sat down on a stool off to the side. This stool happened to be hidden by the shadow of a tall building, or the old man might not have been willing to chat with me in the blistering sun.

"This Demon King has waged wars of aggression against humans almost every year since she took office, though all she has recaptured are the cities that the previous Demon King lost."

"Speaking of the last demon king, I was just 14 years old when the last demon king took office."

How did the old man talk about the last demon king? I just wanted to know more about my master, but seeing the old man's face that wanted to confide, I couldn’t interrupt him.

"At that time, I was still living in the countryside and my family was destitute. I still remember the day the last demon king issued the disarmament order, and many demon soldiers unloaded their armors and returned to their fields. Not only that, the last demon king also reduced the taxes and focused the economy on agriculture and industry, and also established many academies. Hey, in fact, I do not know much about these things. I heard these things by decrees.. Anyway, the last demon king made a lot of contributions, and our family could afford to go into the imperial capital to develop business because of that."

"Hmm. And then what’s going on?"

"Although we feel that we demons are living more and more like humans, who cares about that. As long as we dress, eat and sleep well, that’s okay. But all of these have shattered since about 60 years ago when humans waged a war on demons. And we were shocked at the time that humans, who had always advocated harmony, took the initiative to start a war of aggression on us. This is probably also the aftermath of the disarmament. Our demons lost the war, when the brave one led the army to sneak into Harrens City and killed the last demon king."

When the old man said here, infinite sorrow overflowed his expression, "Fortunately, General Fuld still managed to survive from that abrupt attack. Our demon had to give up a large amount of land, but the humans did not dare to go deeper, and the war ended there."

I nodded my head digesting the knowledge I had just gained.

"The prosperity of our demon before that great war is, I think, the most precious memory in my life."

The old man's face looked fascinated, but it changed back to a regretful expression a moment later.

"Little girl, don't look at the prosperity of the imperial capital today, just look at the other cities, our second largest city of the devil race, Velos. You’ll find that these cities has less than one tenth of the population of our imperial capital. In our demon kingdom, only the imperial capital is prosperous. Now all capable young people are forced to join the army. Today’s demon king constantly waged wars, constantly tried to retake the former territories, constantly depleted the vitality of the demon race so that our demon race has a longer life cycle than that of humans. And naturally the population regeneration capacity is not as strong as that of humans. I don't think even Ilotia can save this country if it continues like this."

I listened to the old man's speech quietly , and I felt that he had more to say. The old man's voice carried an infinite sigh of regret.

"Ah, if the last demon king made Ilotia, it would have been better now. But why did Ilotia just never appear? If there was Ilotia, it wouldn't have been a fiasco like that."

The old man made the Ilotia so important that I felt my shoulders become heavier suddenly, "So ...... the appearance of Ilotia can really make the demon army invincible?"

"I can't say beacause humans have human magic too."

I looked at the old man a little dazedly as he stood up and looked at me with a smile on his face.

"If my children were still alive, my grandchildren would be as old as you are."

Saying a final goodbye to the old man, I sat on the bench and looked up at the head with long, flowing hair.

Shaking my head, preferring not to look at the thing, I turned my head and watched the old man leave.

After losing sight of the old man's back, I also stood up and left this square.
