After finishing her meal Lena carefully looked around at us.
Now she was much more relaxed, after all, I had taken care of her quite well during the meal.
"Lena, you sit here while I clean up the dishes."
Walking with brisk footsteps to quickly clear away the remnants of the table, I walked out of the room. I left Lena to stay with the master alone once again.
I was so happy to work because I was serving my master, but I was determined to be her personal maid. How could I not be active?
I went back to my master's room and took Lena out. I didn't disturb her rest and I went to play with Lena in the next room, my room.
I sat next to Lena on the stool and asked her with great anticipation.
"How does it feel?"
"Um...very...very good."
"Tell the truth."
Lena squirmed and bowed her head, keeping her voice very low.
"Very scared and nervous, didn't like the look."
"So do you think I'm mean?"
"Right now...not mean."
It seems I've given her a preconceived bad impression.
"At ease. I'm only mean in front of people I don't have a good feeling about, and Lena is so cute, how could I be mean to you?"
Lena looked up at me in a daze.
"Are you... really Yiluodiya?"
"Yes." I lifted the long hair that covered my ears, "Look, the ears are pointy, right?" Then I lowered my hair again and touched the top of my head, "I don't have horns either."
"Hmmm..."
"Isn't that very different from how it's portrayed in the book?"
"Hmmm."
"And what kind of feeling do I give you? Don't lie, or I'll get mad."
Lena tilted her head in confusion before she slowly said.
"Right now, you look more like a human, very lively elder sister, unexpectedly girly. But the book says you are fierce and evil."
I nodded in satisfaction. It seems the human history books are a bit of a problem.
"So how old are you now?"
"Eleven years old."
One with eleven years old should have some knowledge, and Lena is from the nobility, so the level of her culture is generally higher than that of the common people.
"Good. Can you tell me how your teachers or books describe us demons? Don't worry about saying the wrong thing. It's okay to scold us, and I won't blame you or hurt you."
"Well..." Lena paused again, supposedly sorting out her language, "Demons... are as demonic to us humans. With the demons, the world will not be peaceful. The demons are the culprits of the destruction of world peace. Humans and the demons are incompatible. The demons are evil, but the demons are too powerful. The demons are constantly invading us humans. We humans can not do to wipe out the demons, only to fight against them to the death."
"Finished with the demons, what about me?"
"Really want to say?"
Lena's eyes were somewhat tentative.
"Well, the more you say the better. Don't worry about what I will do something bad to you. And the more truthful the better. Say everything that's on your mind. Don't be afraid just because I'm on the side of the demons."
"Okay. Yiluodiya has slaughtered dozens of human cities and killed countless people. And the methods were extremely cruel, each time leaving a group of people to kill people and then let those living people transport the bodies to other cities of our humans. It was a nightmarish period of human history, a time when the demons were at their most rampant and the humans were at their most depressed."
Lena perhaps hindered from confessing their country's history in front of her enemies, so she spoke somewhat lightly.
I nodded thoughtfully.
In other words, it's probably like this.
Initially, it was probably just a war between races for resources, until the second generation of Yiluodiya, the demon race reached its strongest period ever, constantly invading humans and insulting them. There was a chance to take the entire human kingdom's strength but because of the second generation of Yiluodiya's selfishness the demons delayed the attack, which is also an insult in front of humans.
Later, the second generation of Yiluodiya vainly attempted to rebel and seize power as a demon king, but she was suppressed.
So that the demon race declined. Now the demons don’t invade humans with great military and great effort like what they did before but they still invade humans constantly.
During this period humans slowed down slightly without Yiluodiya's oppression, but in the eyes the demons humans are very weak.
Until the last demon king's rise to power, the demon race began to disarm and reform.
The entire demon kingdom underwent a radical change, focusing more on the development of culture and science rather than military aspects, and it was another heyday.
During this time, humans also have time to develop peacefully, probably in the peace of this time humans are planning in every possible way to deal with the demons, however, the demon king wants to reconcile with humans ...
I will not repeat what happened later.
Is the last demon king too trusting of humans? He also did not expect the humans who have always been suppressed to suddenly counter invade the demon race, right?
I reached out and touched Lena's head.
Thinking about what the master said, the historical records are prejudiced.
Then humans probably selectively ignore the more benevolent parts of the demons. In order to inspire future generations to rise up against the demon race, the history books must have deliberately incited hatred part of the record.
The demons certainly can not admit fault, and even considered the invasion of humans recorded in the history as the glory of the demons.
So the history of both sides may have some prejudice.
"Very well. Wait a few days before you talk to me about your view of the demons and whether it is the same as imagined."
Lena stared up at me and nodded, much of the defensiveness dissipating from her eyes.
It was probably because I covered the tips of my ears with my hair, which was not too far from a human, that Lena spoke to me properly.
But what I can confirm is that my face is much more delicate than all humans, more on the side of mythical elves, so humans are definitely not as pretty as I am.
