As soon as I stepped out of the room, a strong smell of blood rushed into my nostrils. I covered my nose and looked down the corridor, where I spotted a trail of blood that seemed to be left behind by a dragged body.

How is this possible? Could there be someone else in the villa? I immediately thought of a terrifying murderer or a burglar breaking into the house. I couldn't believe that such a remote place, a place that few people knew about, a place where Jasmine Wen's uncle had built a villa for himself in a secluded seaside area that was not open to the public, could have such an incident occur.

Why did this happen? We had just agreed on a meeting time, and Jasmine Wen's uncle had given his consent. Why did this happen? Could it be...

Before I could continue my train of thought, a sudden wave of nausea overwhelmed me, making me stop and consider. My heart was racing, and I felt a deep sense of fear and confusion. In situations like these, I truly didn't know what to do.

Despite my hesitation, the idea of finding out the identity of the perpetrator quickly came to mind. And so, gathering my courage, I followed the trail of blood. The bloodstains led me to a room at the end of the corridor. As I approached the room, I took a quick glimpse inside.

The bloodstains continued into the room, and to see more clearly, I knew I had to enter. However, as I tried to take a step forward, my legs trembled uncontrollably, and beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I hesitated. Was I scared? Was I considering running away?

My legs trembled beyond my control, something I had never experienced before. "Damn it! Stop it!" I shouted, slamming my trembling thigh forcefully. I sensed that I might have been discovered, but even if it meant risking my life, I was determined to confront this murderer.

This impulsive and irrational thought surged within me, and my body responded accordingly as I stepped into the room. In front of me, I saw a person dressed in a black robe with a black mask, holding a blood-stained fruit knife. There was also a person lying in a pool of blood next to them, wearing Jasmine Wen's clothes.

Jasmine Wen had also been killed. Was it this person who did it?

"Who are you... What is your motive for doing this?" I shouted, using all my strength to speak.

"I never expected... there would still be survivors in the house," the person in black responded with a husky and piercing voice.

"I'm asking you... who are you?! What do you want?!" I glared at them with rage.

"What do I want? Just to kill all of you... I love blood, and I love seeing blood all over the place. It's so... entertaining!"

"You maniac!" I grabbed a nearby chair and threw it at them, but the floor somehow became incredibly slippery, causing me to slip and fall. I noticed there were oily foam-like substances where I fell.

"Do you want to attack me? You are underestimating me..." He smirked and slowly approached me.

"You bastard! Damn you!" I tried to stand up but realized that I couldn't.

"Struggle all you want. It's just a waste of your energy. This oil is special, designed to keep you down once you fall. Just watch as your blood drains out, and your pupils dilate as you die," he raised the blood-stained knife, its sharp edge pointed towards my back. Although I couldn't see it, I felt death getting closer and closer, causing me to lose my sanity.

Fear, an overwhelming fear, invaded my mind, seizing control of my body and rendering me completely defenseless. I didn't manage to take down this person, and yet I was going to die so quickly... Someone... someone please help me, even if...

Even as I screamed with all my might, my voice was unable to come out. The flag of death had already been planted in my mind, and there was no turning back.

Just as I was despairingly preparing to accept this reality that I didn't want to accept, a powerful voice pierced through the silence.

"Never... never touch Jerry... not even a single strand of his hair,"

Yoruishi? I turned my gaze towards the door and saw Yoruishi pale-faced, her wrist casually tied with a piece of bandage, and holding the fruit knife she had just had in her hand.

"I didn't expect... there are remnants, I really made a mistake..."

The man in black said with a headache, but soon he seemed to recover his previous state.

Using a tone filled with murderous intent, he said, "Then I'll drain your blood first... fresh, slightly viscous blood must be delicious,"

After saying that, he stabbed towards Yoruishi. Yoruishi stood at the door, motionless. If this goes on...

"Yoruishi! Get out of the way!"

I misunderstood her, thinking that she had killed Su Yuqian and Feiya. However... I did such a terrible thing to her, why would she still come to save me?

My brain instinctively shouted out without being influenced by such thoughts.

When I saw the tip of the fruit knife about to pierce Yoruishi's abdomen, I felt like my own breath had stopped.

Time seemed to slow down for a few beats, playing the process of the knife tip piercing Yoruishi's abdomen in slow motion.

Yoruishi might die too, it's all my fault, it's all because of my irrational thinking that led to this result.

And all I could do was watch helplessly, powerless.

I hated myself at this moment. I bit my lip and blood splattered from the bitten area.

At this moment, for some reason, the man in black hesitated.

"Yoruishi... seize the chance now..."

Yoruishi heard my voice and was ready to stab the man in black with the knife. The man in black, seeing the knife coming towards him, panicked and stepped back, then slipped and fell on the floor, unable to get up no matter what.

"Damn... this oil is too slippery..."

He desperately tried to stand up but couldn't, and I was also preparing to grab his body to firmly restrain him, when he was about to approach,

He suddenly took off his mask, revealing a face that turned out to be...

"Jasmine Wen...?"

"Hehe... senior..."

She still had a mischievous smile on her face, and I was completely stunned.
