Seven Days of Larry and Charlotte (2)

The next day.

Inside the room, Larry sat where Charlotte had sat last time, holding the book that Charlotte had read before, and quietly flipping through it.

The door was opened, and a figure with purple-red long hair entered along with the sound of high heels, but when she saw Larry, she lightened her actions, gently closed the door, and walked over slowly.

Larry did not raise his head, still continuing to flip through his book.

Glancing at the book in Larry's hand, Charlotte's eyes flickered slightly, placing the tea set in her hand on the desk.

"The story told in this book is too unrealistic. Everything seems full of hardships, but the content already hints at its perfect ending."

Putting the book "The Legend of Hero Zak" on the table, Larry stood up and stretched.

"Don't you like this kind of book?"

Charlotte poured tea into a cup, glanced at Larry, and said indifferently.

"Things will never develop as perfectly as imagined. There will always be sad things that make the story more vivid, right?"

Putting the book back in its original place, Larry's finger stopped on another book, and gently pulled the book out.

"A perfect story would make people feel too unreal. This might be the story that young girls long for, but in fact, according to the development in the story, it can only become a tragedy."

After saying this, Larry's gaze turned to the tea Charlotte was fiddling with, and asked, "What is this?"

"Shuangcao tea, it has a very unique taste, and will make people feel incredibly refreshed after drinking it."

With that said, Charlotte pushed a cup of tea towards Larry, indicating for him to give it a try.

Larry glanced at the teacup, thought for a while, and then took a sip of the tea.

Like having a cold drink after eating a mint candy, the refreshing feeling permeated his mouth and throat. Putting down the tea, Larry nodded and said, "It's not bad."

"Have you had better tea?"

Charlotte glanced at Larry and took a sip of the tea.

This tea was brewed by her herself. After the frosty grass was infused with ice magic power, it would emit a cold taste, so Larry also tasted her magic power. She was somewhat concerned about his evaluation.

"Well...not really. I can't make tea, but I do have some collections." Larry saw that she was a bit unhappy, but didn't know how to continue the conversation, so he just said that.

In fact, he discovered that his inventory could be used in the past two days and had been taking things out constantly. He stayed up all night last night, messing with it.

"I hope you'll get a chance to let me taste the tea you're talking about. I like drinking tea."

"We can do it now." Upon hearing Charlotte's words, Larry suddenly had a cup of hot tea in his hand.

Charlotte looked surprised at the hot tea that suddenly appeared in Larry's hand, and then said dumbly, "This is..."

"Black tea, it's sweet, you can add milk in it." Handing the black tea to Charlotte, he said softly, "Give it a try."

Under Larry's astonished gaze, Charlotte took the black tea directly, blew on it, and then took a sip.

"It's delicious."

Larry was feeling a bit conflicted. When he drank the tea brewed by Charlotte, he felt the flow of magic power and suspected for a moment whether she was trying to harm him. He didn't expect her to have no concerns in this regard, and she directly drank the tea he gave her.

"Do you like it?" Larry looked at her and said.

"Yes." Charlotte nodded, "The taste suits me very well. I really like it."

Larry smiled and said, "I also quite like black tea. If you like it, I can always get it for you in the future.""Always..."

Charlotte suddenly paused, her hand holding the teacup stopped in mid-air. With a complex look on her face, she stared at Larry as he put the book back on the shelf.

She had never heard such words before.

"What's wrong?"

Larry took out a thick book and asked Charlotte, who seemed lost in thought.

"No, nothing." Charlotte shook her head slightly and smiled. "Just don't make promises you can't keep."

Larry stared at her smile, somehow becoming captivated by it.

Charlotte noticed Larry's gaze and put her smile away.

Realizing his lapse, Larry nodded and said, "Of course."

Opening the book, Larry stared at its contents and whispered, "Has anyone ever told you that your smile is beautiful?"

Charlotte looked at Larry, then at the book in his hand, and burst out laughing.

"I don't know if anyone else has said that, but you must think so."

Pointing to the upside-down book in Larry's hand, Charlotte said, "This is the Chronicle of Warcraft. It has many descriptions of magical creatures, but many of them can no longer be seen."

"Uh..." Larry laughed awkwardly and turned the book right side up.

Charlotte took another sip of tea, sat down on the chair, and asked Larry,

"What's bothering you?"

"Hmm?"

Larry stopped flipping through the book and looked at her puzzled.

"My grandfather said you're very powerful."

"I suppose so."

"But..." Charlotte put the tea on the saucer and looked at Larry, "I think you're extremely uneasy inside, or maybe even afraid."

"..."

Larry remained silent, listening to Charlotte.

Charlotte looked at Larry and then continued, "Can you tell me what you are thinking?"

Larry's fingers stopped turning the pages of the book, and after a moment, he closed it slowly.

"No, it's nothing."

"..." Charlotte looked quietly at Larry without speaking.

Larry felt very uncomfortable being stared at like this.

Finally, Larry sighed and said to Charlotte, "What I fear is the unknown."

"I don't know everything about this world. Communication and reading, these things are only possible for me through magical translation."

"Perhaps true strength is to face the unknown, but I have this great power and I'm just an ordinary person."

"I'm not a saint with no emotions, I'm just a human with great power."

"Can you leave me alone for a while?" Larry put the book back on the shelf, sighed, and spoke to Charlotte.

"..." Charlotte was silent for a while, then stood up. "I won't bother you then, but being alone like this can be very painful."

After finishing her words, she tidied up the tea set and left the room with the tray.

Watching Charlotte leave, Larry felt deflated, walking powerlessly to the bed and collapsing on it.

"What did I say? That was so lame..."

Glimpsing the sunlight streaming through the window, Larry's eyes slowly closed, and he fell into a deep sleep.
