When the word "mom" came out of Cascia's mouth, I immediately panicked, thinking that something important had been exposed. However, I quickly regained my composure, realizing that it wasn't the case at all because my daughter's question had no basis.

"...... What's wrong?" I scratched my face. "Dad doesn't know what you're talking about."

Your mother was the daughter of a noble family and childhood sweetheart with dad. They fell in love over time and she died during a difficult childbirth the night you were born.

Basically, this version was something my daughter believed in and would cry about before the age of ten. But in recent years, she has started to question me and is more inclined to believe that dad was abandoned by mom and brought her to live in Shiloh.

Of course, she also asked me, what about her grandparents?

Oh, those old things that separated your mom and dad? They were all wiped out when the Moree army invaded, and even their mansion was leveled.

I casually brushed it off like that.

But now, Cascia still had an angry expression on her face.

"If mom isn't here, why do you know so much about Gianda?!"

Well, my sweet baby girl who grew up in the mountains, she is so innocent that she can make that connection.

Even such a small matter can arouse her suspicion.

"Because dad knows." I immediately asserted myself. "I figured all this out within a day or two."

But Cascia didn't guess wrong either, her mother, in a sense, was connected to Gianda. And also, her big sister is the current reigning queen, Lilis!

But this is dad's secret~

Cascia finally seemed convinced and whimpered twice in dissatisfaction, then bit into the roast meat in her mouth with a somewhat crestfallen expression.

It was at this moment that I noticed Nero had already finished his own food and had been secretly nibbling on mine. His meaty body wiggled with delight as he wagged his tail.

"You wretched cat." I grabbed it by the back of its neck and lifted it up. "Are you itching for a bone because I haven't beaten you?"

Nero usually follows Cascia, so he basically enjoys whatever good food she has. He eats better than me and has inadvertently grown into a big meatball.

He can't catch mice, just lounges in the sun and sleeps all day, and even rests on Cascia's head. I don't know why I keep it.

It lazily looked at me, yawned, as if saying, do whatever you want.

This stinky cat only listens to Cascia and basically ignores me. So, I lost interest and casually threw it on the ground.

But speaking of which, I don't know if I'll have time to go to the Chamber of Commerce. After all, there are a lot of items on the checklist, and it might take a while to check and calculate the amount. It may affect the itinerary by then.

However, just as I was worrying about these things, the corner of my eye suddenly caught sight of a clothing store.

Hmm... In Shiloh, everyone gets their clothes tailored, and Cascia doesn't have a decent suit yet.

So it doesn't matter if we delay a little. Anyway, it won't be solved today, and spending the night is inevitable. So why not take some time? Even if I hate Gianda, it's not too exhausting for Cascia to return overnight.

"Come." I took my daughter's hand. "Let's go, dad will buy you new clothes."

"Huh... clothes?" Cascia seemed a little unsure.

"Yeah, I nodded. "Dad will buy you a nicer set."

The store was located to the south, so the view was good, and the clean display windows were full of beautiful dresses and outfits.

When we walked into the store, a young girl came up to us.

"Hello, customer," the shop assistant said. "What can I help you with?"

Unlike the typical style in Shiloh, this place had ready-to-wear clothes in various sizes, hanging on the walls and hangers.

Cascia was starting to get overwhelmed, looking around as if unsure.

"Ah, such a cute little sister," the shop assistant smiled. "Did your older brother bring you here to buy clothes?"

When Cascia heard me being mistaken for her older brother again, she frowned, unhappy."It's Dad," she tugged at my sleeve, "this person, is my dad."

"Huh?" The young shop assistant seemed incredulous, "A...a young dad, indeed."

I personally looked similar to the shop assistant, so she must have been surprised.

But I wasn't concerned about that, instead, my mind was focused on choosing something for my daughter.

"Cascia, which one do you like?" I asked.

"Dad, you choose for me."

In a place she had never been to before, my daughter seemed a bit timid.

But that was normal, before we rarely went to nearby towns, so it's natural for Cascia to feel uneasy.

"Oh, this one is nice," I spotted a set of silk dress with a lace collar, "Daughter, go try it on."

The light blue color would complement Cascia's fair skin beautifully.

"Yes, I'll go get it," because the display was a sample, the shop assistant went inside to get the appropriate size for Cascia.

The storeroom was next door, so she quickly returned.

"Young lady, the fitting room is inside," she handed the clothes to my daughter, "please go change inside."

"Oh, okay, thank you."

Cascia politely thanked her and went in alone.

"She is such a beautiful daughter," the shop assistant exaggerated as she watched Cascia's figure, "and she looks so much like you."

"Ah, thank you..." although some people had mentioned before that Cascia resembled me, it was probably just an illusion, right? How could there be resemblance without any blood relation? It's amusing, but I do enjoy hearing those words.

"Sir, would you like to get a set as well?" the shop assistant suggested to me, as the sales mode switched on, "we have styles that would suit you here too."

"Ah, no need," I declined, "it's fine as it is now."

I didn't really need any new clothes, the Blue Feather Clothes I was wearing could easily transform into any style I liked for men's clothing, although I couldn't control the female form when it's in blood mode.

From the fitting room, there were constant rustling sounds as the clothes rubbed against skin. After a while, it seemed like Cascia had finally finished changing, but she still didn't come out. In fact, she let out a soft "ah" sound.

"What's wrong?" I grew concerned and approached her, "Cascia, are you not feeling well?"

"Huh, Dad?!" she exclaimed softly, "N...no, don't!"

But Cascia spoke too late, I still lifted up the curtains of the fitting room.
