Act 101: Dragon Knight?
update icon Updated at 2025/3/26 6:10:12

In the epic poems sung by minstrels, the role of the dragon knight is depicted as either an unparalleled powerhouse or a legendary hero. The descriptions of these characters are always full of elaborate and gorgeous language, giving the impression that they are gods walking among mortals.

In true history, there have indeed been powerful warriors like these. In the mythological war thousands of years ago, during the Great Collision, countless space channels opened up between the Devildom and this world. Led by the Demon Lord, a massive demon army invaded, and all races faced the crisis of extinction. Under these circumstances, they had no choice but to form an alliance and resist.

In this life-or-death moment, the top technologies of each race were brought out without reservation, colliding and igniting countless sparks. Among them, the dragon knight shone the brightest.

During the mythical era, the human world was still a complete and vast empire, with eighth and ninth-rank existences being abundant. Even now, there are still quite a few Holy Rank powerhouses, who can be considered the national aces and mobile nuclear weapons of their countries.

A group of Holy Rank knights with noble souls and powerful abilities were chosen to form contracts with the strong beings in Dragon and become dragon knights, soaring above the battlefield as the top fighting force of the alliance. Unfortunately, in the final battle, almost all the dragon knights perished, and the legendary dragon knight contracts were lost during the chaotic battles among the various races after the retreat of the demon army to Devildom.

"What, are they worried that we won't win?" Tiran couldn't help but exclaim in surprise as he held the scroll in his hand. He never expected something like this to end up in the hands of the Elf race, and they even gave it to them.

The history on the human side has been fragmented and incomplete due to the empire's division and continuous wars. Even as a princess, it is difficult for her to understand the distant past. She only knows that such warriors once existed.

"It seems to be true..." Aya lowered her head in thought. "There were many mentions of this in the little book. I used to read it like a novel when I was bored."

"I'm getting more and more curious about this 'little book' of yours. It even has things like this?" Tiran looked at Aya sideways.

"Just some parts... Dragon numbers are already relatively scarce, and they don't have the concept of a nation like you humans. They have barely had any civil wars, so their historical inheritance has always been relatively complete."

Aya coughed twice and tried to recall: "The advantages of the dragon knight mainly lie in three points. First, it goes without saying that the cooperation between Dragons and human powerhouses results in a doubling of combat strength. Second, the contracts signed between humans and dragons have the effect of sharing souls. Humans can share the dragon's magic, life, and soul power. In other words, even if the knight has no magic foundation, they can still use Dragon Magic and also possess defensive and magic resistance capabilities comparable to a Dragon."

"Very powerful." Tiran couldn't help but exclaim. Dragon magic, dragon life, dragon physical strength— isn't this just a humanoid dragon? She actually envied Aya and the natural advantages of the Dragon race, especially Magic, which was much more useful than simple Chi in many places.

"The third point is the combat techniques. In order to unleash the dragon knights' full power, the top powerhouses of Dragons and humans jointly developed a set of specialized dragon knight combat techniques that perfectly combine their strengths. If I remember correctly, the name of this set of techniques should be @#¥@#%&*)&..."

"What?" Tiran was stunned at the end.

"@#¥@#%&*)&..." Aya repeated it again. A string of ancient and melodious notes, many of which were sounds that the human oral structure could not produce. It had a strange and fascinating charm.

"Can you please translate it into human language? I can't understand Dragon language." Tiran knocked on Aya's head without good grace.

"I... I don't know either." Aya's voice sounded a bit guilty.

"That's embarrassing, isn't it, Aya? As a Dragon, you don't even understand Dragon language, and yet you dare call yourself a golden Dragon?" Tiran showed a disdainful expression.

Aya became unhappy. "Hey, don't be like this. You're a human too. Besides the common language, do you know the dialects of every human kingdom? Do you know the languages of the Eastern continent? To me, this Dragon language is an ancient language, extremely difficult to learn. Even my parents only know a few phrases. I'm already doing well to remember the pronunciation."

"Dialects aside, it seems that I can actually speak the language of the Eastern Continent..." Tiran muttered softly, feeling a bit embarrassed. It seemed that the common language there was Chinese, but they didn't know how the timelines in this world worked. "Well, alright, even if what you said makes sense."

"However, ehhh... I'm becoming more and more interested in this Dragon Knight, Aya. How about..." Tiran's gaze fell upon Aya, slightly expectant.

"What? Do you want to ride me?" Aya retreated cautiously, crossing her arms protectively over her chest. Well, that was quite ambiguous. But when it came from someone as beautiful as Tiran, it had a teasing undertone.

Tiran's face turned slightly red as she lightly chuckled. "N-No, you, don't misunderstand! I meant that such a good thing shouldn't go to waste, especially when the Elf God granted it..."

"You might not understand the specifics of this thing." Aya felt her own face flush slightly. Uh, how should she put it, the Dragon Knight's contract...

"What?" Tiran blinked.

"The Dragon Knight contract is a top-level contract that achieves a perfect fusion on a soul level," Aya explained, blushing. "To reach a level of sharing life, the blood and souls of the knight and dragon must completely merge... In our Dragon's history, all the combinations of Dragon Knights were male human knights paired with female dragons... Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"...Huh? Huh? Huh?!?!"

Princess Tiran didn't just blush at this point, she couldn't hold back the loud "huh huh" exclamation, her head lowered as white steam began to rise.

In other words, signing the contract required...required...doing that kind of thing?

Although Aya felt a bit shy herself, she quickly recovered since she had known about it for quite some time. But it was quite interesting to see this usually arrogant princess show such a cute reaction.

Hmm, too bad there wasn't a camera right now. If she had taken a photo and sold it to the Princess's fan club in the kingdom, it might have fetched a fortune.

"Guh...wuwuwu..." Tiran lowered her head, grumbling angrily with a gurgling sound in her throat, clenching her fists tightly. It was unclear what she was muttering about.

"What are you saying?" Aya curiously brought her head closer.

"You...you...you stupid Aya! I hate you the most!"

Princess Tiran suddenly lifted her head with force, and her head collided fiercely with Aya's chin.

"Ouch! Ouch!"

"Ow!"

The two idiots who suddenly lost their sanity due to a contract, one holding their head, the other holding their lower jaw, squatted on the ground, suffering so much that tears were about to fall.

"I'm telling you, can you not get so excited? Although it's a bit embarrassing, it's true!" Aya mumbled unclearly. Well, the princess's head was really hard, she felt like all her teeth had loosened, like they would fall out with a little force.

"It's all your fault! Suddenly mentioning...the Dragon, Dragon Knight." The blush on Tiran's face hadn't faded yet, she gritted her teeth in protest.

Uh-oh, Princess Tiran felt like she couldn't face this word anymore. No wonder there were so few Dragon Knights, even during the Empire era when humans were at their strongest and all the races were united, it was quite difficult to find brave warriors with the courage to do such a thing with a mother dragon.

"Well, anyway, let's rest first. This matter shouldn't be mentioned again! RUA!" Tiran gave a threatening look before turning around and rushing into her vine-wrapped house, not making a sound.

Wuu...wuwuwu... Tiran muttered angrily, her head lowered, her throat emitting a sound that seemed like she was sulking. She clenched her fists tightly, but it was unclear what she was saying.

"What are you saying?" Aya curiously brought her head closer.

"You...you...you stupid Aya! I hate you the most!"

Princess Tiran suddenly lifted her head with force, and her head collided fiercely with Aya's chin.

No wonder there were so few Dragon Knights, even during the Empire era when humans were at their strongest and all the races were united, it was quite difficult to find brave warriors with the courage to do such a thing with a mother dragon.

"So, back to the topic, do you still plan to...uh, sign this Dragon Knight contract?" Aya hesitated for a moment before asking.

It felt like asking, "Do you want to go on a date?"

"Impossible! Are you, are you still thinking of doing that thing with me? Just a mere servant!" With a mixture of embarrassment and anger, Princess Tiran's normally hidden girlish nature surfaced completely, as she pounced on Aya, scratching and clawing like an angered kitten.

"I was just asking, just asking!" Aya shrank her neck, quickly dodging backward. Although it seemed like she was acting spoiled, with her near Holy Rank strength, it wouldn't be fun if she were caught.

"Phew...anyway, let's rest for now, and never mention this matter again! RUA!" Tiran displayed a threatening expression and turned around, entering the vine-covered house without saying another word.

Grr...super fierce.

Hearing the sound of the door closing with a clang, Aya tilted her head. This princess...she's quite cute when she's not pranking or causing trouble.

"Well, it should be fine to have a 2 vs 1 situation without any rules." Aya pondered for a moment. Anyway, it wasn't a must-do task, so she decided not to worry about it.

Waiting from afternoon to night, Angel still hadn't appeared. After confirming with Tiran that the sacred mark hadn't disappeared, Aya recalled the painful experience of waiting overnight and decided... to go to sleep!

The princess is right, how can you fight without proper rest? Especially when facing top-tier strong opponents like the fiery Angel Seraph, any slight mistake could lead to a painful outcome.

However, the World Tree is still the World Tree, the trial ground for the Elf race, not a leisure vacation spot.

As the saying goes, "The night is dark and full of terrors." Any sneaky activities are best done at night. So tonight is destined not to be peaceful.

A thunderous roar suddenly echoed from afar, causing the sturdy vine houses rooted in the ground to tremble slightly.

The roar carried an extremely strong pressure, hitting people's chests unexpectedly, almost depriving them of breath. Aya and Tiran, who were sleeping, were awakened by this roar. However, thanks to their super ninth-level strength, they quickly regained their senses from that pressure.

"A beast's roar?" Aya crawled out of her sleeping bag and quickly went to the window of the vine house to look outside, trying to find the direction the roar came from.

The babbling river beside them even rolled up large white waves in response to this roar, as if it were boiling.

Apart from being huge, this sound... seems a little familiar?
